[BUG!!] ARX Corinium boss AI must be wrong!!

ARX Corinium last boss must be manipulated by the tank.
However we can't. I want to keep it at the ground area to avoid shock damage against
DPS and Healer from water zone. But I couldn't do it. Boss couldn't follow me, because
taunt mech might be broken.

Feel like so "stressful" for those type of BUGS. It must be fixed immediately.

    That's the mechanic. It's the worst mechanic, but the mechanic literally is "she's not always controllable by the tank."

    I'm glad that "boss drops taunt" is no longer being used as a mechanic in dungeons, but there are a few older ones that have it (Arx, Direfrost).

    The whole thing is related to the quest: During the quest, Sellistrix will periodically drop taunt, at which point the nereids will present a "Taunt the boss!" synergy for the tank to hit. Unfortunately, if nobody's on the quest, that synergy isn't present but the mechanic of dropping taunt still is, so it just makes the fight chaotic.

    The even worse part is that Sellistrix's taunt drop is actually programmed as her being taunted by an external force. That means that once she drops taunt, if the tank retaunts her, it will count towards going into overtaunt. That also then means that she'll eventually overtaunt because of her mechanic and then rampage and be untauntable until it wears off.

    Back in the day i would take her to left hand back corner hold block and hold her there, then everyone would sit on her back and burn worked well then anyway.

    Ok must be missing something, I duo this on vet with my buddie Bastian, never had any problem I've noticed. ;)

    Aren't you supposed to tank this boss in the water so she takes more damage (or something)? I've always seen the DDs/H stand on the land while the tank takes the boss in the water. She does move about though (and if you have the quest the lemeneid sisters have different options you can choose at the back of the room, one of which seems to be a taunt.

    the boss gets a dmg shield that gets reapplied constantly if shes on land

    if shes in the water, it electrifies the water and deals dmg, but she wont have the shield

    for the OP, there are some enemies in the game that at times straight up ignore taunts occasionally, this boss is one of them where she will randomly go attack another player for a few seconds

    Unfortunately the other posters are right on the money. This boss has intentionally been designed this way.

    What I found as a workaround that works well is to herd her to the edge of the water. Tank is in the water, dps flank her, and healer behind. If she aggros on someone else, her melee ranged should be large enough for her to remain in the water if you're tight enough, without risking anyone but the tank to the zaps. Also helps to be spread for her scream this way.

    Can confirm she isn't big and bad enough to kill a dps that is being actively healed, especially if the tank is providing maim and/or weakening enchants or other sources of sturdiness.

    As it's already been said, she's one of the bosses that are intentionally not fully taunt-able.

    I play exclusively healers in pugs. And it's been my experience that 99% of the time the groups can handle her in the water both normal and Vet... def on normal with or without me (on Vet as long as everyone stays near me and let's me heal them, but that's another topic of discussion)

    Prob best to try and keep her in the water if you can. Makes it go much faster and I personally think the phase where the little islands have aoe dmg are worse than the electrified water on Vet. And much harder for a healer to heal everyone through.

    I'd like to point out, again in my experience, when she drops taunt she's one of the bosses who leaps and attacks the player farthest away. So when I've been with tanks that want to keep her on land for whatever reason, I've intentionally stood on the water farthest away wanting her to attack me to make her drop her shield and speed up the burn.

    Whether others are doing this intentionally or not, idk. I only bring it up because that's how I know she'll jump me if I stay the farthest away from her and get back in the water.
