Extreme Lag only on character selection (PC-NA)

On my character selection screen I experience extreme loss of FPS. During large PVP battles I get 100+ FPS, and idling in towns I get as much as 350FPS on ultra everything. Does anyone know what could be causing the character selection to be behaving so awfully, or how to fix it? Thank you.

Aside from repairing the game client and reducing quality, all those steps were already complete. Thought to others who may have this issue in the future, I fixed the problem by going into my NVIDIA GeForce Experience and capping FPS at 144. The character selection and character creation screens normalized after capping my FPS this way and rebooting my rig.
