I am experiencing the exact same problem, my system can run at the highest settings just fine, but for the last couple days I've experienced huge FPS drops randomly, down to 1-10fps!

That would make sense, but is FPS drops a server load issue or a graphics issue??

I have the same issue. I can play the game fine at very acceptable FPS, 40-60. This has only happened 3 times in 36+ hours of gameplay and each time on a dungeon boss fight that the FPS will get locked at around 4-8 FPS. Seems to happen when an effect causes lots of GPU demand. Something defiantly happens in the Graphics Engine that is non recoverable. Restart Game and all is fine.

    Intel 4670k
    16GB
    NVidia GeForce GTX 660TI
    2560x1600
    win 8.1 x64
    Graphic Settings = MAX

So what is the question? GTX660Ti@2560x1600..what do you expect from it? Lower your settings a bit and try again.

@powa8‌ I dont really believe you playing at a Gaming Laptop (event with those specs) at FullHD and on High with 90fps. An actual mobility i7 is perhaps good but the GTX560m is kind of a desktop GTS450, which will never reach 90fps at high in any actual game. So either you are cheating us here or you forgot to mention sth...

that is a very unusual Frame Rate Drop

    Check your Graphic Card settings and set them on Balance (between quality and performance }

Then Game settings, change the screen resolution and set everything on Default, maybe turn on-off couple of settings, and try.

Unless another application runs behind the game, you should not get any fps drops with server load, that would affect your latency.

If you want to solve it permanently, start changing your settings and try out, it could be the shadow gives your that drop or sun light , it could be something really weird, you have to test yourself and see what that is. Because 80 fps drop is EXTREMELY UNUSUAL.

The highest drop you should be getting is around 20-30 and that would be a huge amount of players showing up and casting stuff. Other than that, rain drops your fps, background drops it, maybe foggy places. but nothing can do 80 fps drop in game, or should.

I experince that too, althougth not the perfect solution this is how i fix it when it happens... Duno why, but works for me :

1- Alt+tab to bring up the desktop
2- Crtl+alt+del to bring up the task manager
3- Close task manager and return to game

Done, fps are back to normal, weird but works for me as a temporary solution.

This has happened to me a few times since early access ... and only during boss fights. First time was in Volenfall final boss fight (second time through ... no issue first time) and most recently well into the fight with Molag Bal. When it happened in Volenfall, it actually happened to at least one other person in my group too.

Best way I can explain it is a short freeze / glitch, then it unfreezes and I can play again, just with painstakingly low fps.

Only fix that has worked for me is restarting the client.

    Running with a gtx 670 ... core i7 gen3 ... 16 GB of RAM.
