Constant Disconnects

So, will we be reimbursed for the literal hours of missed gaming due to constant disconnects? We pay for this service of playing this game and, since 2014, spend literal hours just trying to play the game due to DCs. Is this a legit concern or is this just a knee jerk reaction?

Not experiencing any disconnects here (PC/NA).

As far as reimbursement goes, if you check out the ToS/EULA you should find that like every other MMO/online game, they cannot guarantee connection and they don't reimburse for it.

I suggest you submit a support ticket and see if they can sort you out that way (unless there is a server issue for you, and I don't see a posted notice that there's any issues with PC (NA or EU) or XBox or PS.
PC NA Yes, I use add-ons.

You'd probabably want to post your machine specs, your connection info, and whether you use proxy/vpn. And which country you connect from, and to which server, as well as your platform. And actually, you'd probably want to do all that on the appropriate platform machine support forum.

And if this has been happening since 2014, shouldn't you have attempted to get help years and years back?

And no, no disconnects on either PC NA or EU.

This thread is tongue and cheek. Disconnects has been a consistent issue for ESO since it’s launch. These forums are an echo chamber of dissatisfied players and this thread will more than likely get moderated and/or removed.

This thread will more than likely get moderated and/or removed. It’s simply a stab post. DCs has been a clear issue for ZoS/ESO since it’s launch and majority of players have experienced this numerous times throughout ESO’s life. My machine is far far far more than enough for any game on the market. The issue is and always has been a ZoS issue. When you crash numerous times in a night while running on 1.2 Gbps internet then it’s difficult to blame the client.

Yep. Anyone who regularly groups knows that dc's are a common occurrence that's been happening since launch. (I remember a time it was especially bad and breaking trifectas bc the dc registered as a death.) No amount of bleeding edge computer hardware and internet speed will fix it bc it's ZOS.

The dc issue becomes even more apparent when there's an event and people are grouping up more than usual.

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic.

    Thank you for your understanding

100%. It’s hard to believe that after 8 years of being one of the “most successful MMOs” that ZoS is unable to rectify their connection issues. I was so overwhelmed with joy when they simply replaced hardware with the exact same, yet newer, model hardware and then called it an “upgrade.” I’ll be interested to see if ESO is even still alive in two years after and entire year of mediocre content (to include a laughable card game) and regular catastrophic PR embarrassments. It’s simply sad.

PC EU, zero disconnection issues. Have been online for many hours and hours non-stop.

No matter how good your PC is, or how much it can handle, this has absolutely nothing to do with your connection. Nor does how fast your connection is influence a stable connection. If there are issues, none of those things will matter.

Somewhere along the line, or in your LAN, you have a problem.

Some things to try and get this fixed:

-Make sure there are no background programs running.
-Almost any program, even unknown programs, update automatically. Turn this off for all of them.
-If you share your internet connection, limit the other user's data.
-Check your router settings, and make sure it does not re-connect, disconnect, or rebuild the connection for any reason.
-Do not use wireless for gaming, it can work flawlessly but in some/many situations it can be wonky.
-Make sure your router discards any unused/stray/bounced packages, both from LAN and WAN.
-Make sure your router does not respond to WAN requests.
-Check your connection/ISP to be a stable one.
-Make sure your operating system(windows) does not send (m)any reports.
-Replace any possibly faulty network cables, and make sure they are not near powerlines(or make sure they are shielded) or near other electrical devices.
-If you use a firewall or anti-virus, add ESO to it's exceptions.
-If your network cable is longer than 10 meters, replace it with two cables, and place a router or repeater between them.
-Replace your router. (If you or any other users use the internet a lot(downloading/streaming/gaming/etc), you may want to consider a gaming router)

Don't let issues like these get you down, but try to problemsolve them. Games like ESO need 100% full uptime on your connection, if there is even the slightest issue, you will notice this. Because if your connection is interrupted/delayed for even just 0.1 seconds or less, you are most likely to be disconnected.
As the gameserver will notice your cliënt is out of sync with the server, and the easiest way to solve that is to let the user re-make the connection, therefor disconnecting you.

Other online programs are less likely to notice very tiny or short disconnects/network shifts, but due to the nature of MMO's, these issues come to the surface. Fix them now, and you will fix them forever. Goodluck!
