• ESO Store and Account System for maintenance – November 17, 6:00AM EST (11:00 UTC) - 4:00PM EST (21:00 UTC)

ESO Uninstalled itself?

Windows 10 (with an unactivated W11 instal ready to go). W10 up to date. ESO game files / launcher up to date.

Went to log in this morning and...

ESO launcher and the game files are nowhere to be found on my Game drive (B:). I also checked Program Files / P... (x86) on my C: drive in case my memory is playing tricks. I can see an Elder Scrolls Online folder in my Program Data folder on my C: drive and that is it!

Obviously I didn't uninstal it.

Anyone else had this problem?

    I play on pcna and I had this problem yesterday I went to login and it was just gone it tried to redownload itself but wouldn't work I had to redownload it two times and do a whole bunch of stuff and it finally started working

    OKay... I thought W10 was a bit different... yeah W11 has installed itself over the past few days after I allowed it to download. Whatever.

    Update... the installer cannot see the old drive it used to be on, a SSD with all my games. I checked the SSD and Windows said it was all okay. The launcher shortcut in my task bar gives an error message by the way.

    So "Uninstalled itself" and the installer cannot see the disk it was on.

    Starting to suspect Windows 11 doesn't sit well with all of this.

    Okay. Solved....

    Somehow.... it would appear that I dragged my "TESO" folder from the root of my B: drive to a much lower down folder of some other game.

    Logically trying to get my head around this.

    All I can think is: while perhaps waiting for the monitor to warm up (it's a deluxe beast lol) I've thumped the keyboard randomly as I do to punch it out of sleep and somehow that has triggered a grab of the TESO folder and a drag into a much lower down folder of another game.

    Sorry for any dramas but I'll leave this post up as it might be a good lesson to others I dunno.

    (Might explain why the Installer refused to see my B: drive - it knew the game was already installed there!!!)
