Enabled/Disabled status of addons not persisting after update

After I updated, I logged in for the first time. First attempt I never got to the character menu, fair enough. Second attempt I loaded my first character, and it was freezing really bad and kept throwing to a loadscreen and I had to kill the process with Task Manager. So of course on update day, my first troubleshooting step is making sure my graphics drivers are up to date, and they are. I went in again, and next step is to disable all addons on all characters before I loaded a character. I then loaded my character, and it looked much better, so OK, it's an addon issue. I logged the character out, and loaded the next character, and the glitching/freezing/loadscreens was back, so I had to kill it again. Next time I went in, I checked the addons and they were all back on again. So I disabled them all again, one at a time for all characters, loaded the character, and it all looked good. This time, as soon as I logged the character out, I looked at the addons before loading a second character, and the addons were enabled again. Anybody else experience this?

when on the character select screen, you need to make sure you disabled the addons for all characters

you can choose to conditionally enable/disable addons for specific characters while on the character select screen too, so just make sure that its set to "all characters" when doing addon management on character select

Thanks, but I already stated that I disabled all addons for all characters. I never do anything else. Any other thoughts?

Thanks anyway, but that's not what this thread was about. I know how to install/uninstall add-ons. I guess I didn't explain clearly enough in my original post that I was temporarily disabling them, in order to troubleshoot an add-on related issue that was introduced by the game update. And the add-ons refused to stay disabled when I logged from character to character. That was the issue. Further, without taking any additional steps or ever figuring out the cause, the issue disappeared within a couple days later. So it must have been something corrected either on the back end of the game, or else by an add-on author.
