Ash Imperial Shield...how to get the red crystal on shield?

For some ugly reason the crystal in the middle of the shield is green...what do i need to do to make it red?

    Who knows? Have you experimented?

    Did you make it and it was white at first with a green crystal?

    Did you then apply a Resin to upgrade it to green quality to see if the crystal changed?

    EXPERIMENT!

    birch shield has a red crystal on it after upgrading to green...but not ash

    From what I've noticed, the gem changes color based on the trait stone you pick when you craft it. Same goes for several other armor pieces like belts, helms, chest, etc.
