Executioner weapon glow

So obnoxious. For a time I thought this was caused by my 2h swords which always had the frost enchant by happenstance, but then I got a different sword and still had this annoying glow.

I suspected the "Arcane Fighter" passive for a time, and considered eventually respeccing to get rid of it again for this reason.

But after swapping out some skills on my hotbar, it turned out this glow is cause by Executioner. Le sigh. No, not enough. Le rage. This skill is so good but if I wanted to have sparkly glowy stuff all the time I'd either play a mage type character or go back to WoW. I want a weapon fighter who looks like a weapon fighter with a 2h sword, not a pseudo-lightsaber glowstick!

Enchanted glowy weapons have been a part of elder scrolls since at least morrowind, although I do admit at a certain point the novelty of such things wears off. If there was a choice to turn it off that would be great, more choice is always good.

Guess my point is this, back when WoW was released anyone could have just as easily said, "if I wanted to have sparkly glowy stuff all the time I'd either play a mage type character or go back to elder scrolls."

Are you a nightblade? I just picked up reverse slash tonight, and personally I find assassin's blade/impale a much, much better execute style ability. Does more damage at high health, more damage at low health, and it's even ranged (with the impale morph).

I'm regretting the wasted point I put into reverse slash now. The damage is terrible for the cost.

I am using a stamina-heavy 2h/bow build so there comes the desire to use Reverse Slash / Executioner. As for glow effects, I understand that enchanted weapons, special buffs like Siphoning Strikes etc. produce glow effects, but here we are talking about a weapon skill, about something that you'd expect a character to attain through physical training, not magic. It's also the reason why I went the stamina+weapon damage route, because I want make a physical fighter first and foremost.

Yeah, thats pretty annoying... It would be ok for me, if it glows while fighting targets under 25% health, like some kind of the elfish swords in the LotR universe while orcs are nearby. Actually that would be fun! Glowing when low health targets are nearby, but all the time? Just why? I dont see any point.

Even on a stamina build I would prefer Impale. The damage is top notch and the range is very useful.

I still don't get why some of those swords look almost pitch black.. if you didn't have that glow, you'd hold a giant black ***.

Oh well, I think you're yet to see the glorious effect of the Bubble proc on weapons :D That *** makes your weapon bug out and appear as glowing white. Looks terrible.

Oh well, but I'm a pyromancer, when I cast, my spells are so pretty I lose half fps :D. Full screen of fire and ***. Gotta buy a new machine.
