i was looking forwards of playing the new update, but of course im not able to because the launcher refuses to update, and just sits there and chews on "loading" when trying any of the many hotfixes present on this forum

can anyone please help me fix this ?

    i even now tried a clean install on a freshly formatted harddrive but still the same problem

    win 10 machines updated flawlessly.

    When I manually ping the manifest patch server 198.20.198.100 I get no reply.
    This is the address my launcher is trying to use so probably the problem.
    Tried all the other fixes.

    I did some checking on https://198.20.198.100/. On another computer, I get forbiden. Meaning the site is up. However, on a windows 7 box, I get timeout error on web and ping.

    Hey there @ItchyTheRat

    To fix this issue on Windows 7, you must update to enable TLS 1.1 and TLS 1.2 as default secure protocols. If you haven't tried this already, steps can be found at the top of this article.

    If this issue continues, then please be sure to open a support ticket with us.

    OK on my WIN7 machine I went here: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/update-to-enable-tls-1-1-and-tls-1-2-as-default-secure-protocols-in-winhttp-in-windows-c4bd73d2-31d7-761e-0178-11268bb10392#bkmk_easy
    And installed the easy fix registry key fix for TLS on Win 7 and it worked!

    Apparently even if you have TLS enabled it doesn't work without a registry patch even if it shows enabled in security settings.
    Why this just became a problem this patch ZOS/MS only knows as never had problem before.
