Whirlwind and Cleave need substantial buffs.

These skills do absolutely horrendous damage for being the only AoE stamina based skills we have.

Whirlwind in particular is really, really bad in veteran rank levels. It barely takes 10% of a regular mob's HP.

Yep. Right now there are only a few abilities doing good AoE damage, and they're magicka based.

Not only these need to get a buff the Bow AE is the weakest of all.

The Staff Impulse is way to powerful against the other weapon skill, and in a stamina build you have no good AOE.

They must make stamina builds more in line with magika build in PvE and PvP stamina still has more disadvantages cause you need stamina for all your actions.

I only use whirlwind after applying all my burns from my DK. It does pretty decent damage if the mob is at low health, but above that it is atrocious. It is best used as an execute, not a one time spam repeat skill. Of course, if you are running a pure stam build, that's kind of a problem.

Currently going for class skills and just use ur weapon for... convenience rather than main source of damage seems to be a whole lot better, thats why magicka builds triumph...

Like literally I could probably run a full assasination nightblade in light armor and just spam the execute ability and probably still prevail....

On a more practical note, every class has good damage+another effect skill unlike weapon skills where you need 3 slots to do what a class skill does...

It's just...for the looks I guess to have a weapon, since using magicka for dps and stamina for buffs/dodge/block is way better. No idea... just feels totally unbalanced atm.

whirlwind is fine and is an aoe execute, it's not really intended to be spammed on mobs from full health to 0. cleave is also fine, it's cheap enough to be spammed and both of it's morphs reward you for spamming it.

No, it's not fine. Try doing VR level AoE as a stamina build compared to a magicka build spamming pulsar let alone dragon knight aoe, and tell me it's fine.

The abilities are garbage in PvE.

atleast you have one, we have none as tanks. and btw it is not bad, its like a execute and deal more damage the less hp the mobs have, so its aoe execute, however spamming it without dealt damage ex not having a dk with burning talons and synergy or a sorcerer, then follow it up with, yes its terrible.

but i agree also most weaponskill lines are terrible, and need to be overhauled/changed.

1hand and shield has resource issues.

Then also think shouldnt they be allowed to have a stamina ability that deals aoe damage in their weapon tree when the mobs are at full hp?

    imo they should.

Whirlwind isn't bad as an AOE execute, but yeah.

70% of the current active and passive skills need a total rework. There are too many magicka skills, everything costs too much compared to how big of a pool we can have and how much we regen, magicka has insane pure returns that easily work with class skills giving almost infinite magicka while stamina has only one pure return which is locked to a single weapon.

I hate to sound like a ***, or rude, or w/e....but how the hell did this current skill system get past testing?

Exactly! Ruffian passive, Volatile activation hit, Burning Talons, 2x Whirling.

Yeah but not all classes have godly class skill AoE like DK. Sorcerer's Lightning Flood happens to be garbage. So we're stuck with Impulse. Volcanic rune is nice for the cc but it costs a metric ton of magicka as do daedric mines and they don't do enough damage for the cost.

IMO they should've made basic Melee and most Stamina based melee attacks able to hit close targets similar to Puncturing Strikes.

Might need a restriction like no more than 50% damage/skill effectiveness vs non-targeted enemies, still giving a reason to pick a target in a fight. Though magicka AEs would likely still have greater range.

At least with cleave and whirlwind you can actually use them every time. As an archer it would be nice to actually cast volley once in awhile, but you can't use it on uneven terrain, and lots of the terrain in this game is not perfectly flat. I can't understand why they would impose this limitation unless it's simply an animation problem. But it really needs to get fixed or they just need to change the skill to something else that we can actually use 100% of the time.
