I don't know if this has been mentioned or not: Some strange things are going on there. The area has been "rolling back" most of the day. A few minutes ago I looted a really nice bow from a locked chest. The area "rolled back" and I lost my bow. Not to mention the other items I picked up from killing a boss.
As far as I can tell this is only going on with Coldharbour. I have been all over everywhere today and haven't seen this happen anywhere else.

And yeap , i got hit by a rollback before , like around lvl 30 i think , it was quite annoying , half the zone also got hit ... not many happy people there happy at that time :P.

Yeap , there are plenty of bugs , i lost count of the number of times i had to log out/in to fix something.

I don't plan to go back until the coast is clear. I would hate to lose another nice item again.- Monster Slayer

You are safe as long as you log out and back in after doing progress since logging out 'saves' your progress.
There was a somewhat similar problem closer to lauch on the EU server when Greenshade kept doing rollbacks every 15-30 minutes due to one broken quest breaking the zone until the quest was removed by the devs via patch
