Same costume for EVERYONE at Veteran rank...

So, when you reach V2 you are mailed a costume--a high elf, gold heavy armor, looking costume. It looks great.

My problem here is that Zenimax, once again, has failed to follow through with wanting players to look unique and stand out. EVERY single player receives the same costume so you will inevitably come across a plethora of people wearing the same armor.

This could be easily fixed by having maybe 5+ costumes and randomizing the one players are sent for reaching V2. This would decrease the number of players wearing the same costume and if they aren't automatically bound--increase player to player interaction as players would sometimes seek specific costumes and could then trade others.

Thoughts?

Note: This applies to more than just costumes, but quest items in general. Everyone always receives the same reward, rendering those items useless to trade...and quite often useless to use as they don't often offer the attributes or armor type I am seeking.

I enjoyed what SWTOR and other MMOs had for quest rewards--you would be given options to choose a certain reward or a special jar that would have a randomized item in it. Adding these things would increase player to player interaction, which is what Zenimax ultimately wants (so they say).

If you randomize it people will complain about not getting the one they wanted most, some will be worth more than others so trading them 1v1 will be unlikely

So make it a choice between rewards. That isn't exactly a innovative idea but it works. People are bound to choose differently.

Not if they all look cool. There should be heavy armor costumes, medium, and light styled. Depending on the style of character people play they would want different costumes, so no I do not think some would be worth more than others.

You could always just not use it and continue to obtain and/or craft a set of gear with a different style.

I got the V2 costume reward, put it on, decided it made my character look completely stupid and promptly stuck it in the bank.

I'm sure they'll add more interesting and/or rare costumes in the future. This really isn't a problem right now when the game has only been out for 3 weeks.

What looks cool to you and what looks cool to me may be very different. It might be difficult for the developers to create enough costumes to cover more than a million different ideas of "cool". I saw someone running around with a pirate outfit. He probably thought it was cool. I hate pirates, so for me, not so much.

Personally, perhaps they think of that costume like a uniform. Maybe it's intended to allow people to show solidarity, as opposed to the unique designs available from equipped armor/weapons.
The moment you call someone stupid, or try to display your opinion as "fact", you lose all credibility.

    The Golden Saint costume?
You are doing it wrong. You are all supposed to gather together and praise Sheogorath.

The problem with your request is that there is a reason connected to the story for you all to be awarded with the Golden Saint costume and not with different costumes.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.
