is it just me or does all Medium armor look pretty terrible?

i was looking through visuals of all the medium armor. and they all look horrible to mediocre at best (not including the ordinator looking armor but im a morrowind fan so im biased and dont count that to the normal persons opinion)

seriously they are all dusty looking brown hunks of stitched together leather it seems. even the deadric medium barely looks any different (it still has 0 colour and the horrible helmet)

am i the only one who thinks this or do the design team need to pull their fingers out?

(lucky for me, i use heavy armor, which mostly looks much better)

Bosmer toward the higher tiers looks nice. And daedric (other than the shoulders) looks decent enough.
(I'm a 5heavy/2light so idc enough. The two said above are the only meds I actually like.)

This game is designed to have reasonably realistic-looking armor, which means it's mostly going to be pretty unattractive and drab. Check out a history-of-armor book and you'll see what I mean. Built for practicality, not visual flair, unless you were a rich person commissioning something you were probably never actually going to wear in the field anyway.

I agree that the leathers got the worst of the lot. Heavy armor can occasionally have some vanity quirks, and the light armor people can get a little color in their stuff once in a while.

I suspect the ESO folks (and some players!) are opposed to this, but dyes would really help a lot, and everyone wouldn't look so identical.

I have just told you more than I know.

I wish I knew what they looked like before crafting them --- I made an Argonian styled leather jerkin and it was PINK. Since I have a wood elf girl who WOULD wear pink, I went ahead and made a complete set for her, and she looks fabulous (until she loots a better piece of gear and looks like a circus trainwreck)....

But until I created it, I had no idea it was going to be pink. There were some Breton pieces that looked VERY cool (black) but then I immediately replaced the pants with some teal and grey monstrosity with better stats. I know people get tired of hearing comparisons to other games, but RIFT has a wonderful "wardrobe" feature where you can place purely cosmetic or even simply out-leveled gear into the slots and check a little box and then THAT appearance will show on your character, not the superior-stat fugly gear you wear in your main inventory.

I'm personally very fond of my Altmer medium armor. Not very colorful, but then I generally don't like a lot of colors.Nice neutral tones work for me.
