Sorc's Bolt Escape Change

Hope this isn't against TOS, merely an example of a game that had teleportation where I think ESO could adopt that for sorcs.
There's many other problems that need to be fixed with the ability like cost and actual effectiveness, but this simple change or at least to one of the morphs would make it viable in so many different ways.
Imagine a bow build where you can cast backwards. You can already do this by doing 180 spins, but it's much harder to do when the way the skill works freezes you in place and takes away all momentum after cast.

OH THANK YOU, that was the game I was trying to think of. I thought of the wizard skill from diablo 3, but that didn't look right as an example..
Actually I was thinking more along the lines of shade step from rouge, but fade step from mages was longer and allowed you to turn left or right in the animation, kinda cool. Added those to OP.0 -

✭YesThe skill needs updating. Being able to move where your character is moving instead of facing would be great but it also should have a faster animation and move over terrain better. Very often it will just get stuck on a hill or slow you down because you landed on lower ground, and times like this combined with how slow it activates can usually make it more trouble than helpful.0 -

Veteran players have been alienated and disengaged from Overland since One Tamriel, due to the lack of difficulty, and pushed into dungeons and trials; the minority of content in the Elder Scrolls Online. We can't take the repetition anymore, fix Overland engagement for Vet players. I don't even care if it's not combat related anymore, just make Overland engaging again.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 10 years. 6 paid expansions. 25 DLCs. 41 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. Make a self debuff mythic. Literally anything at this point.0 -

✭✭YesThey need to rework it in general to just feel better. The self-snare should go, it should be a fluid dash in any direction.
Would also like the "targeting" for Bolt Escape be reworked so that you can look at a specific location and you will dash to that location, within a certain range. Say it currently dashes you forward 16 meters (not sure how far it actually dashes forward), if you want to dash to an enemy 10 meters away, you can simply look at his feet and Bolt Escape will stop at that location.
In general, I like the idea of Bolt Escape being an actual option you can use to move around the battlefield, rather than just a gap closer / escape tool. Reworking it in general to feel better would make it considerably better as a mobility tool, however changing the "targeting" as I suggested would significantly improve it as a mobility tool.2 -

It's like they took the 2Her and NB gap closers and made it linear not needing a target. My inner dialogue while escaping, "Am I safe yet?" Turns around to check incoming zerg. "Oh ***!" ZERGED =(
I'd even take a free camera rotation, and a skill lock while escaping, but it would be nice to defend yourself while getting out of a ***.1 -
