why i wouldnt even play the IC if it was free content

Pewpewcannon
I feel like ZoS struck out horribly with the path they took with the IC. They fundamentally just dont understand at all what pvpers want.

As an avid MMO pvper....I felt like there were so many paths they could have taken with the city (which I will get to later in the post), but they chose this pve/pvp hybrid version that makes me wonder who in the world makes these design decisions.

I dont want 3000 pve mobs everywhere interfering with my pvp battles. I dont want people in my group cowering away from fights, afraid to lose their stones if they die. I dont want [edit] pve quests that reward me with pvp currency.

What I wanted was a true pvp oriented city that incorporated pvp elements with MAYBE a dash of pve to make things interesting.

Picture this: Instead of having 3 million random pve mobs everywhere....why not have 2 bosses per capital zone. These "world bosses" could drop a chest upon death that the 3 sides fight over. To combat people just looking for empty/lopsided pvp servers, the chests would start as such:

Bronze tier: If no enemy opposition involved. Minimal TV stones (1-20), maybe some trophy stuff, random drops etc...nothing special
Silver tier: If there is 2-10 enemies from opposing realms involved in the fight, there would be an adequate amount of tv stones (75-100) from the chest...new crafting mats...more trophy stuff...malachite shards etc
Gold tier: 11-20 enemies from opposing realms involved- high amount of tv stones (500-750), possible fragment drops....malachite...high chance for trophy stuff...higher amount of crafting stuff
Plat tier: 20+ enemies involved from opposing realms- highest amount of tv stones (1000-2000), possible set piece drops....high chance for rare stuff etc etc...

You get the idea. But this idea alone is 20 times more of a pvp centric idea than what is currently in the city. This pushes people to ENGAGE THE ENEMY. ACTUAL PVP. NO [edit] STARE at pve mobs for 20 mins and 5 mins of possible pvp.

I dont want to fight 20 random pve mobs to get to an AD battle. I dont want to finish closing this pve portal before looking for pvp enemies. I just want to melt face, and get rewarded for doing it.

Heck...they could have kept all the pve mobs down in the sewers, and make the actual city JUST PVP and i would have been stoked. They could have pvp centric quests around the city. (defend this part of the city for 15 mins maybe...like king of the hill or some crap)

But instead, I cant fathom just how out of touch the devs seem to be with what pvpers truly want.

THIS was their pvp update? THIS is what they expect people to pay actual real MONEY for?

Well....not this guy. I can put up with no text chat....I can endure 5 crashes a day....I can deal with them not having the basic stuff that pretty much every MMO since 2000 had (dmg numbers, death spam, working mail/COD system, etc) Hell, i can even deal with how these amateurs allowed PC transfers with full stats...

But to call this a pvp update is a sincere travesty and a kick in the face to anyone who truly enjoys pvp.

I thought I could last playing this shell of a game until Camelot Unchained came out....but I couldnt even make it 4 months.

Just pointing out that this game has lost what little pvp fun was left. I held out hope this update would be what kept me interested, but it was definitely the opposite.

I like it. The mixture of PVE/PVP elements, the fact you could lose your stones at any moment, forcing you to play strategically, a completely open PVP environment: basically anything goes, take as many or as little people in your group and run through, no sieging necessary, make your own objectives, and anything could happen on your way.

To also use the word officially subjectively, I will say this update is officially awesome.

Where did he say you hurt his feelings? Also, why is he a fanboy when he made a completely valid point. Your post makes no sense at all.

Cos few ppl liked to pvp in this game, and they tried to lure/force those players to play pvp, bad idea. I wonder how long this could last. They should have fixed those problems why ppl didn't wanted to pvp in this game at the first place.

Well, they did some improvement with this IC patch. But that wasn't enough.

I love that bosses / mobs can change the course of a PvP battle. And I think your numbers are slightly exaggerated. I never felt that NPCs were on every corner like you make it sound.

What I also wonder is, have you actually played the content?

Also as an avid pvper I found it underwhelming tbh but it's day 1 on ps4 too early to judge imo . I will say once I have my gear I see no reason to frequent I.c instead of the main campaign. Mainly because of npcs , pve players zerging and ganking squads . I like pvp , I like pve too but I like a clear definition between the 2. The pvp in I.c last night felt secondary to the pve but again too early to judge

I always found it odd how some people seem to take it as a overall insult to PVE players, when people use the term PVE carebears they arent referring to general PVE players I know a TON of PVE dedicated players who aren't carebears. I also know a ton of RP'ers who aren't carebears.

I feel like its thrown around alot, but honestly you can tell when someone is being a carebear.

[Example - Complaining about being forced to PVP in a PVP area ; wanting things to be easy but gain amazing rewards in the process]

but yeah, there isn't that many carebears very few of them but they sure are loud

    just my two cents

It's a stereotype, that's why. Same as calling someone a "casual". Whether it's truth or lies it's the labeling that gets people.

Imperial city is more of a pve update than anything... And when you do find some pvp action, it's usually attached to a Zerg of 20+ players
