Or being unable to message anyone in the game as they dont exist. But 6 hours is far too long, and why do they always do it in the middle of the day. Cant they do it early in the morning when it wont distrupt a lot of people.
Why? I work rotas and shift periods that go from all times including night shifts. I dont think its that much of an ask to get one shift to work one night once a week or so, infact I bet theycould organise teams so its only once every 2 weeks or longer.

Being happy that they do maintenance is irrelevant to my post.
I can see the notice that they are going to start maintenance. But it doesn't update to show it has started, and there is no post listing an ETA until a user asks and a mod replies.
Users should be notified of upcoming downtime, an estimated time frame for that downtime, and provided with details regarding what the downtime is for.
Please don't pull the "be happy you get anything" card, here. I have a valid point. I'm providing feedback on what I feel is a shortcoming in regards to communication from ZOS to it's players for maintenance.
