Druid Class Skill Lines (Expansion Idea)

The developers should consider adding the Druid Class with a future expansion. This class would be extremely versatile with the following class skills lines:

Nature Magic
This skill line focuses on natural-themed magic. For example, this line offers various protection spells such as Oakflesh, Stoneflesh, and Ironflesh. This skill line would also have spells that manipulate the weather, such as Ice Storm and Tornado to name a few.

Animal Companion
This skill line focuses on calling forth creatures of the forest. The Druid typically travels with an animal companion, such as a loyal wolf or resilient bear. This line has a varied list of forest animals that the Druid can use. The strength of the animal companion is based on skill level.

Druidic Priest
This skill line would focus on restoration and illusion magic. Restoration would be useful for healing yourself and allies and illusion magic would offer spells such as charm, create light, paralyze, etc.

Actually I dont think ESO needs another classes.
The versatility of each class is more then enough. They could add new skill trees instead, so anyone can customize their chars even more.

ESO is not (so much) about the class you play - ofc every class has a different skills etc, but in the end, you can achieve anything with any character (DK heal, Sorc tank / heal, NB heal / tank, etc...) - So I would preffer adding skill trees in the future instead of adding new classes (which could possibly harm the balance). imho

Yea i can see them adding new skill lines:
    Necromancer
    Summon undead and weaken opponents
    Druid
    Summon animals, heal, oakflesh etc
    Blood mage
use health to cast spells rather than mana, lifedrain etc.
    etc

No, if they add more classes it should be more in tune with elder scrolls than wow. Do you remember a druid in morrowind? the druids of skyrim? oblivion even? I think not.

And than there is the lady that controls roots and the earth. Feeling very "Druid" like.

There was a druid sect in Oblivion, in the Knights of the Nine expansion, you recruited one.

That said The Necromancer (destruction and summon undead) is more likely, or a Priest/monk class (restoration, wards and buffs).

The Beldama Wyrd are nature-worshipping witches. You'd have to bend the lore a bit as they're a female-only, but it's not out of the question. I think a 'witch/warlock' class might work, with one tree being devoted to necromancy, another to fetishism and another to nature.

those ideas really sound a bit like WOW or EQ...

    bloodmage:
that would be a caster-nightblade, i guess. They siphon a lot.. hm. maybe a caster-vampire-nightblade. Very bloodmageish, I guess

    Necromancer:
I agree. Could be a guild skill line or a World skill line (the even darker side of soultrapping?). So every class could combine with those skills -> Death Knights, Pale Masters, Fallen Paladins, Dark Priests.. and so on. The Wolf Queen did it.. or will do it in her time... so there is the distinct possibility!

    druid/shaman/witch/warlock:
@Kressinakidal I like the general theme of a more nature-bound class. Rangers, forrestwardens, wyrd, priests of Kynareth, cultists of hircine, servants of the hist ..whatever. You dont have to call it DRUID and the general idea is still nice.

TBH, there isn't a single idea you could come up with that couldn't be done with the classes right now. It might not be an exact replica of what you have in mind, but it'll be nearly identical all the same.

Down the road I'm sure they will create a new class, but considering how many builds you could make with 1 class alone there doesn't need to be any more classes right now. The four classes have everything you could want to make up a core build for a healer, DPS, or tank. Some are more suited for healing because their class abilities favor self/group healing more, but in the end all healers do the brunt of their work with a healing staff.

It's the same with tanking. All classes end up using armor buffing abilities and wearing heavy armor. Dragon Knights don't ignore their tanking skills because they're the assumed "tanking class."

before anything else, they need to add necromancy for players. you know, that type of magic available in every other installment of the series, rather than a magic type not seen available to players since the before the days of TES morrowind

@DGVish I think you are right: the basics are there. Maybe the classes just add flavor and a few specialties.

I'd like that even if I don't need it to play a tank, a healer or dps.

We don't need another class. We need Paul Sage to finish out Spellcrafting and get it into the game.

You haven't played through the DC areas, I take it. Darn druids are all over the place.
