I'm still just lvl 8 but I'm woundering wich skill I should pick up to keep aggro vs multiple target ? Would Puncturing strikes do the job ? I,ve heard that stun/root are the big aggro generator in ESO but all of mine seems to be ultimates so hard to rely on.

I'd apreciated any help and if anyone have a good website or "guide" to link to me I'd be happy :-)

I can't say for sure, but...

Blazing Spear is an AoE which stuns 1 mob and damages all of them.
Puncturing Sweep is a knockback on 1 mob that damages all mobs.
Blazing Shield damages AoE, and also protects you.

Along with Repentance and the 1h+s taunt, this is my plan for tanking with my templar.

I am however as interested as you in more qualified responses to this thread as I am building one myself atm :)

I made a few videos of early templar tanking back when the game first launched. They are still largely relevant.

As a Tank in this game, you shouldn't feel the need to keep aggro on the whole mob. Each player should be able to hold their own against a few trash mobs. Just try to keep aggro on the toughest enemy(ies) and go from there. Unless you are doing a huge amount of damage to the enemies, you won't be able to out aggro the DPS on your team on the whole spawn anyways.

First of all, there is no group agro skill for this game. There are literally 2 skill....Puncture (1H&SH skill line) and Inner Rage (Undaunted skill line) That is all. P is melee taunt, and IR is a ranged taunt.

So Puncturing Stikes is good for solo play, but any group or PVP..no. It grants CC immunity now and that will hurt you. Templars don't really have many CC choices, but I cannot even say that those taunt. Maybe, but the skills I mention force attack for 15 seconds.

Anyway, a link below. I haven't found a Templar Guide to tanking, per say. Hope it helps though.

EDITED to change any to many. And take "agro" and change to force attack. Sorry there.

Follow me if I advance, Kill me if I retreat, Avenge me if I die.

When this immediate evil power has been defeated, we shall not yet have won the long battle with the elemental barbarities. Another evil, it may be an invisible adversary, will attempt, again, and yet again, to destroy our frail civilization. Is it true, I wonder, that the only way to escape a war is to be in it?

If I die, you are forgiven, If I live, I will kill you.

There is no aggro in this game. If an enemy is not actively taunted with Puncture or Inner Fire, they can and will attack other group members at any time regardless of what you are doing. Taunt the most dangerous enemies, generally bosses or heavy melee mobs. Let the healer and DPS handle the rest.
