the difference stays the same more or less when you upgrade it
It's actually the opposite now in 1.6, VR14 (over even VR13) and Legendary (over Epic) is WELL worth it now that soft caps are gone. If you don't want to be the best in whatever role you play then don't "waste your time" to get VR14-Legendary, meanwhile the rest of us know the value of it and have zero issue spending the time/gold to invest in proper gear.Francescolg wrote: »Than it's not worth going for VR 14, since armor and magicka values are "inflated" since 1.6 (one decimal place less) and just the 7-10 more spell damage (also inflated) aren't worth hours of grinding imo
Ty for the help
VR14 Martial Knowledge only comes from SO Trash, SO Chests, Cyro Dolmens' Chest (not the enemies), and Cyro Delves' Chests. All of those locations require the Player to be VR14 to loot VR14, or you can buy it from other Players farming them at ~20K+ each (a steal compared to many Stamina items).Ourorboros wrote: »There's too many levels between VR11 and VR14. Define "WELL worth" please and prove that the difference is meaningful in terms of inpact.
If the differences are minimal: if we are just talking about 7 spell damage more and 50 more Magicka () as well as ~150 armor, I personally see no reason in spending that much since all values have been inflated and sometimes numbers only look bigger but in fact the difference is neglectible.
On the other hand, spending 20.000+ gold for one piece of it instead of 500/piece for this set should be worth to do the math before the buy..

It's true the increase from v13 to v14 is not a game changer, but if you want BiS, then you go v14. the 20 spell damage difference and ~500 magicka can add another 500-1k dps depending on your parse/crits.
Thanks for the clarification on this. You are suppose to be able to get V14 Martial Knowledge in Cyrodiil delve chests...however I have only found medium and heavy sets there. After well over 150 chests not a single light armor set.

They recently stealth nerfed the drop rate from chests in cyro. Between patches 1.6.5 and 1.6.6 the drop rate decreased significantly. I've farmed over 1000 chests since 1.5 and the decline in drops was clearly noticeable.

Looking at the pics of VR11 and VR14 hoods, how did you get to ~500 magicka difference. They both have 517 Magicka and only the bonus is different. So that is less than 60 magicka given up if all pieces do not differ on the base magicka like those hoods.
nope maximum enchant is reached when the item is vr10 or in other words the vr10-14 enchantment gives the same value regardless if it is build into a vr10 or vr14 item.Francescolg wrote: »The question still remains, how much more is it worth to run this set at VR 14 instead of VR 13?

I'm taking into account the bonuses from passives and certain bar setups which are applied on top of those base values. Your right the base values don't jump off the wall as anything special, but they do see additional boosts from various passives in the end providing slightly more than you've quoted.
Edit: I guess I'm looking at my legendary enchants as well, it's my understanding that the enchantment value differs depending on the item level as well, so having v14 will give a higher enchant value when enchanting with legendary.

Technically that's incorrect due to Legendary Jewelry having a slightly higher Enchant on them that what you will have with an Epic variant (even with a Legendary Glyph) and also HM Trial drops have a slightly higher value to the Enchant on at least body pcs (unless you replace it with your own Legendary Glyph then it's the same as normal)... Granted I haven't been able to confirm this is still true as of 1.6 Live but it certainly was in 1.5.8.nope maximum enchant is reached when the item is vr10 or in other words the vr10-14 enchantment gives the same value regardless if it is build into a vr10 or vr14 item.

I am getting tons of the other sets, air and fire, but zero knowledge pieces. Something is disproportionate about that set drop. I wonder if they warlocked it for Cyro in addition to the global nerf.
