This is coming from a PvP perspective.

Blocking pre 1.6 was OP. Blocking post 1.6 is rarely viable (need to spec into it heavily and can generally only be used in smaller scale fights). I know people are going to argue with that, but the reality is blocking seems a little over nerfed. Now I have always hated the fact that people sit and hold block and can cast block... I'm kinda OK with the roll dodge meta, but still.. I think the blocking mechanic could use some work.

Here is my proposal: a. make blocking a cone in front of you (e.g. 180 degrees) and b. make it so the longer you hold block, the more stam blocking uses. This would help promote good use of block at certain times (rather than just spamming it or never using it).

Try to invest into blocking. It's still very, very strong.

360 Degree blocking is needed in TES or everyone will die. Regardless of PvP or PvE.

As far as actually blocking goes, you need to spec heavily into it in 1.6 which basically negates all DPS and healing. So congratulations you can block forever. Good luck killing anything above the level of rabbits.... Oh wait.
