1.6 Setting your attributes

How do you set your attributes?

I've been thinking about the pros and cons of different approaches.

(1) All in health -- good for survivability obviously, but reduces damage. I live to pvp. Is this good for Cyro? How about for tanking? This gives you the flexibility to wear different sets of L, M, or H armor and you can just enchant for what you need on the armor sets.

(2) Even spread between all three attributes -- same as above, but more resources for abilities and a little less survivability.

(3) Focus on Stamina or Magicka -- all or most of your points in the resource you want to focus on or split between that resource and health, but this may limit your effectiveness in certain types of armor. It can make you stronger in what you want to do, for example if you want to be a glass cannon dps.

How do you spend your attribute points and what is your reasoning for it?

The reason everyone used to pour everything into health is because health used to give 150% as much per point as other stats, so it was the most efficient way to spend attributes.

It still gives more per point, but its much less than it was before. Used to be 10;15 versus how its now like 111;121.

Most builds I've seen either pour into one or split between two. Even spread is a bit pointless, as you aren't going to be using both magicka and stamina for damage in most cases.

At present I've got 20 in health and the rest in stamina. I was just thinking about keeping the ability to wear any type of armor. As a redguard templar, I've focused on going medium stamina build, but I miss being able to heal wearing light armor.

With stamina, I can still go medium and heavy.

As primarly magicka based templar (working on a few alternative setups) I uses 20 for health rest for magicka. But I often switch them around. But yea, generally some points in health (which depend on your survivability as a total) and rest into your damage source which is either magicka or stamina.

Some skills can give you better survivability than pure health, so smart skill setup and GOOD gear is what keeps you alive in cyro. (For instance, being able to do just one more roll dodge can easily be worth 5k health - but you'll take hits even with no defenses up and I wouldnt recommend anything below 22k hp unless you are a magicka sorc. Thing to keep in mind is you will not hit a softcap, so stack stack stack one thing and be good at that. This is the general line of thought. For PvP there are many good choices and because it doesnt work for me doesnt me it wont work for you - so test a lot of stuff!

If you can give some class and styles you like to play, maybe we can give better tips.

I find that with unstoppable slotted and around 25k health, I can stay alive pretty well as a group support guy using 2H and Bow. I don't do big damage, just run purify, stamina boost and snipe with the bow or finish people off with the 2h.

However, on my vr6 magicka NB, feel much more effective in pvp than on the vr14 stamina templar. I'm not sure why. I guess I mostly played the templar as a healer, but I found that very boring after a while. So I really don't do much in pvp except stay alive, purify, repentance, throw caltrops and snipe, like I said.

Thinking I will move into my NB more as a main and the templar will become the crafter.

Actually pretty funny. As I said I run a magicka templar, but I have a vr4 stamina khajiit NB alt (old old alt) but its MUCH easier to play solo. I can escape, I can kill, I can troll, I can CC - all the stuff you want to in PvP - my templar cant. So Im considering making my stam NB MY main and MY temp crafter (he only need to lvl prov anyway) - but esp PvP ranks prevents me from this as I have it all unlocked and cba to farm so much ap again.

Some people in my guild put all in Stamina and magicka as NB, using Health enchantments.

put all your fav skills on your bar, eat your food for buff, turn on your toggles, put all your gear on. then put enough points into health to get to 20k HP. put the rest into your most used resource (mag/stam).
