2 questions for sorcerers

I see that with 1.6.5 surge in the Storm Calling is changed. Now both Morph provides healing on criticals, Power Surge %40 and Critical Surge %50 of the damage but Power Surge comes with 2 Major buffs and with the damage increase real healing difference feels like %45 to %52 so is there any real reason to slot Critical Surge?

My single target rotation doesn't suffer that much from 0.25 healing ICD but AOE is another scenario, sometime I get lucky and it procs all the time from big hits and I am healed quite a lot when I am unlucky from small dots :(.

That brings us to the 2nd question Liquid Lightning or Lightning Flood when I saw 10s duration and 4s free duration, I said OMFG but the thing is, I have no problem stun locking mob inside of the field during questing but field is so small and when the mob is not ccable(ans most of the dungeons are so) is the Lighting Flood is the better choice?

Power surge cost is much higher than entropy so for single target it seems that entropy is the way to go, in terms of liquid lightning you will almost always have a clumped up group of cc'able melee mobs in vet dungeons, liquid lightning will generally hit all of these melee mobs. The problem I have had is the ranged mobs and the casters because they never stack up but its still a really good aoe skill. Would definitely say increased duration over increased radius.

I never have a Magicka problem in my Single Target rotation, I usually cast PS before engagement wait little bit Magicka filled then start engagement but if need the buff in the middle of the fight I also use entropy.

Critical Surge is for stamina build Sorcs who use stamina weapons as main dps.

Generally you don't want to have redundant buffs on your bar so I would just stick to entropy, it also gives you 8% hp which is really nice and dot damage on top of everything. Power surge just isn't worth the time any more.

If you arent having magicka problems with power surge, swap it out for entropy and replace some magicka regen or magicka cost reduction with some spell damage or the like. Min max means you have exactly enough resource generation and resources to dps for the longest fight in the game, and the rest of your points and slots go to survivability and dps.

Critical Surge should be for stamina sorcerers, but it costs too much and is too unreliable. Most stamina sorcerers go 2H and use rally now. If zos fix the RNG on surge, it may be useful again.

Crit Surge doesn't have enough benefit to justify it over Power Surge. Crit Surge needs a very reduced cost and/or some other stamina buffs attached to it.

Power Surge is moderately awful, Crit Surge is worse :)

Liquid Lightning, on the other hand, is really quite good now. The radius is small, but can still cover a fair number of mobs. It's making me wish my guild could complete Veteran COA regularly, as I'd really like to add the Valkyn Skoria set now.

I agree and was shocked the green light the CD for the healing portion. We weren't overpowered with it. However if weapon damage from staff does increase spell damage then having Critical surge would be more beneficial in combination with entropy.

Eitherway the sorcerer design choice for Surge was quite sickening and only goes to cement that Wrobel won't hand out a balancing mechanic without breaking something else that is working in return. Despite the outcry from PTS testers.
