weapon power is spell power? 2handed weapons?

i overheard some people in my ts saying something that weapon power is spell power but spell power isnt weapon power. can anyone clarify? and something going on with 2 handed weapons making caster very OP.

I think it's a bug left over from live. Currently (on live), your spell power is boosed by an amount equal to your weapon power, and then additionally by set bonuses or items that give extra spell power.

They're apparently trying to change it so that spell power and weapon power are completely seperate stats, but havent done a great job of reworking the code.
