Can we get a hotfix on PTS?

Just a quick update: we were able to figure out what's causing this (short answer: it's complicated) and will make sure it's fixed in our next PTS patch. It's quite unlikely this will be hotfixed. It's not because it isn't a big deal - it definitely is - but the process to hotfix an issue on the PTS is quite different than the Live megaservers. That said, we're currently planning on having another PTS patch next week.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno‌

Will this next patch make it so that Guards can finally and justifiably be killed, instead of having them be gods compared to all players?

Guards in towns should be basically unkillable... imagine how insane the Justice System and towns/cities would get if you could just kill the guards and get away with everything... that sucks.
Totally agree, this isn't WOW and we don't need communities obliterated by bored PVPers and griefers, aka. Crossroad 'raids' for those who suffered them over the years.

Well, there's no point in going to Cyrodiil, then.

So you mean people are in the PTS Cyro just to one shot everything. Basically not gaining anything from it since it's PTS. And will not stop doing it and continue with other testings until it's fixed? I would see and understand this happening in live but in PTS.

Gamers are gonna game, bro. Virtually everyone on PTS will use the one-shot bug when they start to lose, get bored, feel like being a jerk, etc. Not worth the time/effort to find pvp on pts imo

Nah that's not true. 5-10 people out of 50 will. There have still been duels with no issue. Lastnight you had about 8 people one-shotting each other over ales and another group dueling at ash.

Too many guards in a city with lots of players will likely cause a lot of lag, while I find the idea of "swarming" guards very amusing, I don't think it is very practical.

So with @ZOS_GinaBruno‌ stating that the issue won't be fixed until the next patch it raises an interesting ethical question.

Should those who exploit this ability clearly knowing it's broken be banned even if it is on the PTS.

To me, an exploit is an exploit and if you're doing it on the PTS it is no different than on Live. People play on the PTS to enjoy the game and to test the content, when you know something is broken and you continue to use it you're exploiting.

Red Bull Gives You Wings, is a type of player that knows exactly how much each ability is hitting for using addons like Combat Analytic or FTC. So he knows it's a broken ability. Should he continue to use the ability on the PTS knowing this, should he or anyone else that uses it be banned / suspended for exploiting?

I'd say anyone who continues to use it should be banned from the PTS for a week, that seems reasonable. It's pretty clear that he isn't doing any testing apart from "how much damage can I get out of a confirmed bug"?

But yeah, that's my opinion, especially so for people who ruin others legitimate testing.

This really sucks for NA players, because by the time it's fixed it will be EU's turn at having real characters on PTS.

You're correct - an exploit is an exploit regardless of which server you're on. The purpose of the PTS is just that - to test content. If you find an exploit or broken feature, we expect you to report it and not abuse it, or prevent others from testing.

    We'll take care of this.

And that's why I quit testing. IMO, what's the point in it when there are bugs this big that won't be addressed prior to a next patch.

Since this bug will persist throughout the week I can give absolutely no feedback on combat balance this patch except that people are one shotting people. Nothing else will be credible from anyone this week. Seems like a waste of precious time, time that is probably quickly running out before you release 1.6. A hot fix is nessessary if you want any meaningful information for 1.6.2, just saying.

Agree. There is no way this patch is going to be ready for prime time anytime soon. I still don't understand why they decided to completely redesign the game in one patch. Even the regular patches we were receiving were never released properly.

This patch should have been fixing major issues in the existing game to polish the game up before the F2P re-release, not a game redesign.

I do hope you put a foot down on the exploiting. I would love to test PvP stuff in PTS. However, the folks that take glee in one shotting everything just run around and make it difficult (impossible) to do legitimate testing. IN regards to this week being wasted... just test something other than 2 handed. Lots to test other than combat with a 2 handed weapon. Though, we will need to see how the fix to whatever is happening with 2 handed messes with other stuff or trickles down to other weapons.

Agree..no way this patch is ready for Feb release. Which is exactly why it WILL happen...lol.
Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.

I am scared, the next Patch is going to be a poor one.

Because this week, we weren't able to gather many information, issues and such things. We basically lost 1 week of testing. Sure there can be some PvE testing, but no serious pvp testing.

Does anyone know, how long big updates like 1.6 usually remain on the PTS ?

People are still running around one shotting. Good game, ZOS. Good game, pts players. I'm not sure I see the point of even loading cyrodiil if you are just going to abuse that bug unless you are just griefing. It just sucks because NA players get shafted with this broken ass build.

I disagree, more spawns will cause more unneeded chaos in cities and towns. Players already live in Rawl'ka in Reaper's March for AD side. I can't even imagine if they got even more bored and got a group together and just ran around the city killing all npcs and guards just for giggles... because they can and Thornblade is locked and they are probably waiting for the que to pop. No... very ugly and extremely annoying for those trying to quest, craft and sell in the area. Guards shouldn't be killable and if ZOS ever makes them easier to kill then I'm out... I don't need to be going through a town trying to sell crap with bored players or groups just killing everything because they can.
