Farming champion points on PST

A few of us have been farming champion points (grinding) just to see how fast you can get the points.

We are averaging 2-4 points an hour. Yes, its boring, but still, PST is for testing.
How fast are you getting champion points? Do you think when this hits live all the grind spots are going to be insanely over crowded as players try to farm champion points?

Grinding probably won't be an option at launch. Unless you can find something to grind in some obscure part of the map.

Why does everyone want them to lower the required XP instead of raising the given XP?

They should increase the given XP from dungeons, trials and PVP.

For short while prolly... most likely people will go grind the first 20 CP quickly so they get the crit passive. For longer term only the insane people will be there grinding month after month to reach the cap of the CP system.

Maybe, but I still want a viable way to earn XP that doesn't force me back to the 1990s group-or-die way of playing PVE.

ZOS have a history of nerfing grinding to the ground, they did it in 1-50 zones, did it in VR zones, did it in Craglorn, they'll be monitoring XP gain and doing the same to whatever it is you've found, don't bank on it being there on 'live'.

    *sigh* ....all the good memories....

At least there have been social interaction while grinding as a group when people where forced to team up. Today in MMOs people want as least social interaction as possible for whatever reason.

Because that allows people to engage in any game mode they prefer, rather than whatever few get a boost.

But you can accomplish the same thing either way.

Having leveled 5 jobs (classes) in FFXI to 75 which was entirely group-or-die, before that game became low-man/soloable some years later, I know full well there's usually precious little 'social interaction' in group grinding, it's simply chain mob killing till it's time to log off'.

I'm happy to 'socially interact' when I feel like it, I'm not happy being forced to PUG simply in order to progress 100% of the time.

BTW, the 'g' in MMORPG doesn't stand for group.

In this game you're "forced" to group about 5% of the time. All the rest is up to you.

I personally like the concept of people being able to make progress while they play the game however they want.

Grinding those points while effective seems a very unpleasant approach. Perhaps they should just cap the gain to a point per hour or something, pretty much forcing people to just play the game and do whatever instead of grinding like a monkey.

Not capping it, means that in order to stay competitive in PVE and PVP people will feel forced to grind. Which in my book, is not a fun thing to do.

I - and anyone else in their right mind - will definitely agree grinding is not fun. But the way the system is...what other options are there? Questing? On an alt for 5th time because our main(s) already have all of that done, to the point where some of us got so bored we even found M'aiq without addons' help and all? Running dungeons? Well yes, but the xp for them better be buffed A LOT because on live it's laughable. Plus, dungeons->Trials/vDSA are kind of why people actually want those champion points, to be able to complete them and do it faster and better.

Zenimax really dont like grinding. The only viable grindingspot on live left now is Spellscar and it shows.

It's a pain for me to grind my DK there because it's filled with people. And in update 6 Spellscar grind is removed aswell.

And the funny thing is that they seemed to somewhat endorse grinding for a long time with Craglorn basically acting as an isolated grinding zone. You had multiple areas where 12 man groups were grinding 24/7 for months. The crazy thing about it.....it was pretty fun. Of course that all changed once they made the decision to go B2P and gutted all the boss XP making those grinds pointless. Now we are left with no new content and left to find XP wherever we can scratch it out.
"it's important to state that our decision to go with subscriptions is not a referendum on online game revenue models. F2P, B2P, etc. are valid, proven business models - but subscription is the one that fits ESO the best, given our commitment to freedom of gameplay, quality and long-term content delivery. Plus, players will appreciate not having to worry about being "monetized" in the middle of playing the game, which is definitely a problem that is cropping up more and more in online gaming these days." - Matt Firor

3rdwardhobocub18_ESO ist right. they delete all grindspots boss farms, etc. so people are forced to play THREE *** TRIALS again and again and again. if people prefer to grind let the people play the style they want. if you dont want to grind just dont do it instead of forcing ZOS to delete every single playstyle except of *** questing and making trials.

    - no new content to make XP
    - lesser and lesser lvl/grindspots
    - you are going out of quests very fast

VR14 cant do a *** in 1.6. - repeating trials again and again and again is NOT better than grinding. alle he could do is collecting CP...

if i have 1 hour in the evening i would love to run around make some money and maybe 1 CP by killing some mobs. Thats okay. Y not?

you will NEVER got 2 per hour unless youre fully enlightened. without enlightenment, 400k is insane for 1 CP. you cant grind 400k in one hour. spellscar is always overrun with people and the xp gain is god awful. with full enlightenment, questing is a good way to get CP but enlightenment runs out too quick

I feel the same way. If I have a limited time, I may want to hop in and grind a bit. It's a relaxing distraction. Group content is great, but I'm not always up for organizing one, hopping in Mumble and being an attentive (non-afk) player.

Completely agree! in my opinion you should get close to a complete championpoint after finishing a trial on hardmode or a trial in general.

You know how much xp the trolls in Sanctum Ophidia give at the moment? 18xp.... The most dangerous non-boss-enemy in the entire game and you get 18xp for killing it.....

Exp from Trials and Dungeons is not worth the time.
Killing fast in Spellscar in a pair is good exp but as soon as any more then 3 pairs are fighting there, the exp becomes bad. So Spellscar is going to be not worth it on prod.

The daily repeatable quests are good exp, if you have a good fast high dps group, but most are going to find it hard to get a good grind spot that is not an instance. Most of the insane exp spots have been fixed. But there are still a few instances that give good exp for a high dps group. But there are no solo grind spots.

The fastest champion points I could earn was by having a few V1 toons who had by passed most quests, so as soon as 1.6 goes live, powering through the quests is currently the best way to get champion points. Which sucks for thoses who have already done all the quests.

At the moment a lot of my guild is making new toons and just grinding to V1 (doing no quests) to save all that quest exp for the champion system.

pvp kills need to grant more xp, it took me 4 hours of pvping to only get half a cp level. that shows you something there because i was killing at a pretty steady rate. why are people not rewarded in pvp like ever?
