You need one thing with a NB.... Funnel Health! (Swallow Souls, although that will be overkill and you will probably want to change it eventually if you choose swallow souls.)

If you are Dual Wield then blood craze is good too. That will insure you have enough health, Veil of Blades will be the best NB ultimate for this which you should use as often as you can, be sure to save it from the run up to Molag Bal.

Other than that that throw as many heavy attacks at him as you can, keep health funnel and blood craze active, save your stamina for blocking.

Follow this and he is easy, make sure you move out of the red rings or block them, moving is better as blocks still take damage, try to avoid dodge as it wastes stamina.

Edit: Path of darkness is pretty good for this fight too as it allows you to move away from the big hits quickly and builds the ultimate quickly. I'd put all the points into health myself, then use armor to build stamina.

    Good luck.

I saw a video of a NB killing Molag Bal with a Bow (and going DW from time to time). I haven't faced Molag yet, just a few quest left before I meet him.
But if you can kite him around like the video shows, it should not be too hard if you are Vet1.

Boy oh boy what a struggle I have made out of this. I will accept as fact that I can't build a successful character my way toward scripted boss battles and henceforth embrace the best advice from others on what will work best for them and the PvE world. This includes respec'ing, changing out equipment, tactics, and skills for different bosses.

I don't think it has worked well at all forming and entering a private dungeon on the fly at the dungeon entrance but I have not found or adjusted well to any guild schedule yet either. I have joined two and have left two.

For me though MMOs will always be solo through the main story line. Any more adventure and fun I have beyond this is just icing on the cake.

    1) I posted the strategy in your other thread on how to kill MB easily as a NB. You will need to use strife, though.

    2) You WILL need to group some in VR content in order to keep up with the levels. You can go through the quest chains solo, but will need to do the world bosses, anchors, and delves for the VP.

    3) I posted a DW leveling build a long time ago on TF that is still pretty accurate. Some things would need to be changed around due to patches, nerfs, buffs, etc. but it is usable. If you want to continue playing the NB than you can have a look at the build and PM me any questions on TF.

Last night I had the pleasure to meet Molag Bal. I reached VR1 few quests before the fight, and my equip was all VR1 greens with a few blues.
I used the bow for the fight. And was very very worried about how many times I will have to die.
I used The Thief as mundus stone and a health regen potion. I have all my 49 points in Health (nothing in Stamina or Magika).
In my bar (I never switched weapons) I had:
1.Dark Cloak (just in case I needed to take a short brake from the fight)
    2. Venom Arrow
    3. Magnum Shot
    4. Funnel Health
    5. Crippling Grasp
    6. Veil of Blades for Ultimate

Well... I was expecting a very hard fight, but It was so easy I could not believe it. My health bar never went below 75%, although near the end of the fight I was at zero stamina and zero magika.
Strategy is very very easy: keep walking backward and in circles, keeping Molag Bal in front of you. Run away from the red areas on the ground as soon as you see them. Keep moving, NEVER ever stop!!! As soon as the titans spawn just keep blocking till they are ALL dead (and keep moving no matter what).
Use light/heavy attacks, Venom Arrow and Funnel Health mostly, Crippling Grasp from time to time and Magnum Shot if MB gets too close (keep him at range all the time).
It may take 4 or 5 minutes, maybe 6, but less than 10 minutes for sure, to kill him. But it is really really easy.

Not saying this to be an ass, my VR1 Nightblade with dual wield/bow walked over Molag Bal. I had no problems at all, I think this might just be a tactics issue.

Are you using Siphoning Strikes and Swallow Soul?

Just spinning my wheels trying to put together my road-map to make an ending in an endless game. GW2 was so much more fun and done so much better and cost so much less where you could do so much more. Whatever happens this looks like a downhill experience for me so far.

yeah, the game where you could buy in-game currency (gold) with real life money aka gems. ...

Yeah GW2 had SUCH an end game... I mean.. so much to do.. You could do all the dungeons (again just in exploration mode) with no point at all, You could do eerm.. world exploration (aka strip all the areas from ALL their small facerolling quests) in order to get a shiny pixel weapon with 3% better damage than your previous one.

Oh- I forgot.. how could I.. I mean the game had an awesome zerg paradise called WvWvWvWvW or something like that? fun stuff! Map smaller than a football field with castles every 30m and a zerg train PvE'ing...

Did he quit because he could not defeat Molag Bal?!?
You do not have to respec all the time, you can use the same build for Molag Bal or any other encounter! You just need to adapt the strategy, change a few skills or piece of equipment maybe... that's all.

I'm sorry, but if someone truly quit the game cos of not being able to get the strategy down for Mogal Balls, then 'lol'. I don't mean to sound like a *** but seriously there's countless of explanations on the tactics which go for anything else in the game, this big fella is no difference:

    - stay out of crap on the floor (you know, the red stuff)
    - kite like a mofo if a difficult boss
    - use weapon attacks so you don't burn all your stats to cripple yourself
    - BLOCK - for crying out loud, just BLOCK
    Rebuilt - Aldmeri Dominion

    Kaia Linnea - templar
    Ruusu - sorcerer
    Aino - nightblade
