Once upon a time I used a Char in the starter area to get resources for my higher Char to level craft skills.... that was once upon a time.

Now I use my higher Char to get resources to level up my lower Chars crafting...
because the starter areas are empty of 98% of harvesting nodes... the Bots take it all. Even crabs and wolves.

Of course there are a minority of players who never experience this problem. Some are just lucky... I do not belong to them.

if you spend the time reporting them it be quicker to get them banned ,there are many posts about these issues the way forward is report them, every company has a policy if you took the time to read the devs post you find they are
    doing this .

Well 2 things actively discourage people from reporting - time and lack of feedback. A lot of us are spending a significant hunk of time doing inventory management/cleanup/shifting - so doing non-adventuring tasks like reporting bots is not especially appealing. Lack of meaningful feedback - we aren't ever told : "Thank you for reporting the following <behaviour here> - their account is now banned" so it seems totally futile to report. [edit : when I have reportting gross botting and then I got back to the same area a bit later and gross botting continues it also encourages the "why should I bother attitude."] I do report bots occassionally and I always report timely spam email.

well the feed back is they cant comment on a single bot case that's every single mmos policy period, so they normally give you what they have done in general terms . so if you reported them you get a mail and a thank you is what I had been given , they give updates when they can all of this takes time the more you report the quicker over time the less bots you will see.
I am sorry to say but most of the posts about bots the players don't realise what any company has to do and the way they have to do it , there are laws as well to abide with .

That's an idea, let us get a notice when someone we reported for cheating/exploiting gets banned. Personally that would give me more incentive and motivation for reporting those blasted bots and I'd actually feel that the reporting does any good.

they used to give feedback.. which was horrible because it meant that ZOS was spamming me about my tickets about goldseller spamming me :(

Their original "bounce" feedback is an example of bad feedback - it gave you no info that you didn't already know and eventually was an active disincentive to reporting.

Hopefully they come up with a fix for this soon. Every MMO is plagued by bots and gold spammers, however it seems the bots really have the upper hand in this situation. Come on - being able to 'ninja' to and camp beneath nodes? How do we even stand a chance at harvesting for ourselves? I've basically abandoned crafting for the time being because of the posts I've been seeing. I would rather save myself some money ... and frustration.

I love how people keep yelling "get rid of the bots" like Zenimax doesn't already know its a problem. Just cause you yelled it they will listen to you. How many more posts do we need about the bots? Every MMO gets bots in the beginning and over time they are dealt with. Please no more threads about bots.

How many posts? I would say at least one a day till the problem is fixed.

Ignore something nasty and it will go away? That's one of those platitudes like 'the best antidote to a bad idea is a better idea'. That sounds good, but it's not always true. If it were true, bad ideas would never prevail.

Such as releasing this game on April 4th.

    Bad idea.
