Great veteran rewards!

ScribeOfSalmacis
After all the white and green drops, I've truly been rewarded by the the game.

The reward for accomplishing the veteran levels 1-5: A blue level 50 trinket.

I'd most likely spontaneously uninstall the game, did I not guffaw with tears of desperation in my eyes.

What did you expect after the golden saint costume? and that was a pretty good costume though. i mean it was cool looki... actually wait no it wasn't. and it was helpfu... oh wait,no it wasnt'.
  • NombreDeLaBeast
The golden saint costume was just a vanity item, but to give out a item that gives stats...for a level 50 after getting better items just seems like a slap in the face. The costume is just that, a costume, where as the veteran 5 reward is...useless.

wait till you complete the almanac at V10, blue lvl 50 ring reward

Actually, the best reward thus far has been the black, Thalmor leather suit, which I got somewhere in the veteran 1 AD area. I wore it instead of the brown game armour until the game made it disappear by forcing me to wear another disguise. I almost consider writing CS and asking if there's any way they can make it come back, since the item disappeared arbitrarily (of course after triple-checking I can't get it from the area). Such vanity, I admit. ;)

My guess is they want crafters to actually matter in this game and I can't argue with that logic.

While I'm a crafter myself, I would prefer to see the my rewards be usable by my character. Lvl 50 is unusable trash for a V5.

Also, trinkets can't be crafted as it is, so with all due respect, I don't think you have a point in this particular case.

Point taken. But I can see the possibility of jewelcraft getting added in the future (they seem to have the same traits on them as armor) and the ability to craft Veteran level gear.

Why are you posting irrelevant crap?

If the rewards are inferior to crafting, might as well not make them exist because by vet ranks you have a crapton of spare skill points to max out 2 crafts at the very least.

Rewards should be relevant and rewarding. Failure to have that is crappy game design. I don't do quests so I can vendor 99% of what I get.

I guess I see a game that got released without some of the content. I can see a scenario of them intending for all the content to be in the game when it released. Since it ISN'T, the stuff that IS in the game appears inferior or stupid out of context. Additionally, the majority of people still playing haven't even STARTED Veteran content yet.

I should learn never to respond to posts that are basically just negative rants with no constructive content.

You're missing the point. Each Vet rank is like 5-7 levels of xp, of work, that is done to get them. You do that, push through, at Vet5 you get a level 50 trinket. That is like getting a level 30 trinket at level 50.

At VR10, you get a level 50 ring. That's like getting a level 10 ring at level 50, in terms of time invested.

It is insane, there would be no complaints if it was a blue or purple ring *at the correct level*.

So, like the OP, I was slightly put off when I got the level 50 amulet for completing the Cadwell's Almanac quest line at VR10. Since the amulet was bind on equip, and since there are lots of players in my guild who might like to buy it, I put it in the guild store for a premium and forgot about it, until today, when I noticed it was all grown up and had become a VR10 amulet (see attached).

So the reward has now been changed to an appropriate level? Or somehow putting it in the guild store scaled it appropriately?

My guess is that the latest patch fixed the stats on the item.

Is it sad that I still like my ring of the duchess? The jewelry in this game is god awful, when I am valuing a lvl 30 ring over vr 10
