I'm hoping someone knows the answers to what seem to be simple questions. I've played games on the PC since it was an amber monitor with only text, so please see what I say and perhaps you know where I'm going wrong.

I have two main alts. One's a level 40 Dragonknight in the DC. The other is a level 22 Nightblade in EP. They both have the same problems.

1: They cannot find enough on-level quests, so they start doing above-level quests until they run into the brick wall of being too under-level to continue. I've walked all over the areas they're in, looking everywhere for more quest givers and all I can say is it's pretty frustrating.

2: When they label something a level 8 quest or level 20 quest, why do they put a boss at the end (especially when only one person can do the quest and it's absolutely solo) and the boss is so touch, it's impossible to finish it on-level. My Nightblade is supposed to kill a mage in the temble. It's supposedly a level 20 quest, yet the boss he ends up with at the end is only down to about half-health when he kills my Nightblade. Same thing goes for the Fighter's Guild Quests, the Mages Guild Quest. Everything might be on level until you get to the boss. Are they trying to frustrate us and drive us from the game?

My level 40 has run through the "Garrison" quest twice now, once below level, now on-level, and when he gets to the "Destroy the Summoned Dark Achers," it's impossible. He's got good gear. He has no trouble with the mobs all along the way, but the boss is ridiculously over-powered and has probably double the morale of my character.

This seems to be the pattern.

So how to you all manage to find the on-level quests? And how do you do those terrible quests when the boss is so much higher-level than the rest of the quest?

    1. Most likely because you have started with the masses and on quests you have mainly gathered the quest exp and very little mob exp as the 10 others who where doing the same quest at the same time were killing the mobs and all one had to do is just walk to the objectives and finish it.

You could use some time to gather some crafting mats on proper mobs so you get double benefit. Exp and mats. Think I raised half a level on my char when noticed I was low on leather and went to grind werebats for the leather for an hour or so.

    2. I played DW nightblade in beta and noticed that it is really bad against 3 mobs of same level and sometimes on bosses. Maybe I did not put points into siphoning enough or so it just could not last long enough. Some grafted food helps a lot on those bosses. If your main chosen weapon is not working on all situations you might want to think of what could be the secondary weapon that you could use to deal with the situations and give it some exp and points.

I would say shelve the NB for now. I main a NB and love it, but he didn't feel super powerful until I unlock certain skills around lvls 35-40. It's also the most bugged class right now, not bugged to the point where it's not viable, just that it's the harder to play compared to the other classes.

Luckily you have a DK, arguably the easiest class to solo content with. I'm not sure what you did in your game, but in my play throughs I made a point to complete everything in a zone before moving to the next. This method kept me well above the recommended level to complete quests. Usually 3-6 levels over, so this leads me to believe you missed a lot of content.

I would either find the missing content you didn't complete for the extra XP (open up your map and look for the icons still in black) or just grind a few levels killing groups of mobs til you reach the desired level.

Thank you both for your input. I think it's great that people here are kind enough to give a little time to a fellow player.

I have not only whited-out all icons, I've actually gone on foot (because I do craft so I look for my nodes) over entire areas hoping to find quests. For instance: My DK is in the south and south-east corner of Deeshan. He's done all the level 41 quests, some of the level 43 quests, but he still can't beat the boss in the Garrison quest.

I do try switching from sword and board to duel wield, but this guy is tough, like so many of the bosses.

It would be great if there was a web site that actually listed all the quests for a level and told you how to find the starter NPC. I found a site that lists the quests, but no clue about how to activate the quest.

I do kill mobs in dungeons - my DK is the tank, and my nightblade usually stands back shooting his bow, then teleports in to do his big dps. I'm not avoiding mobs. I had been informed that just going around killing mobs wasn't a good way to level. Perhaps it's the only way for me.

You're in luck, there is a site for that: dulfy.net/2014/03/30/eso-quests-guide/

Dulfy has a wealth of info & guides on her site. Enjoy!
