Anyone feel we need to be able to pick the Color of armor we make?

the color changes while making different level armor is nice but sometimes i like OLDER materials colors more (Ebon thread over Kresh for instance) so why can't we choose a rollback color choice using both old AND new mats? mats of the new to make that rank of armor while mats of the old to gain it's visual look, helps the economy alittle and allows more costimization.

i'm also thinking gems should have a slight impact on color but i'll let you folks think about that one (i'm refering to tiny details like on the high end Highelf shoulders)
PLEASE REPLY TO ME WITH @dsalter otherwise i'm likely to miss the reply if its not my own thread

We will soon be able to dye our armor.
    Check this: http://dulfy.net/2014/05/01/eso-may-1-reddit-ama-transcript/
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

hopefully it's not TO achievement dependant as that would ruin the fun of it :(

Well it depends on how they are linked to achievements, I don't mind them being linked as long as they are not linked to very specific achievements.

However, I much prefer the idea of having to work for the rare colours of dye rather then blowing 10k on a sale for it. One thing I hated about GW2 was the only real way to get a rare dye was to spend money.

Having the basic colours linked to easy achievements would be fine as most people will be able to get them then, but have the rare colours linked to harder achievements.

They need to make sure that they are linked to several achievements though so that players can earn the colours through their preferred play experience. For example, for a rare dye, you could unlock it from completing a achievement for a vet dungeon boss, but if you prefer to pvp, unlock the same rare dye through a rare/hard pvp achievement such as "take over x keeps" or assist in x amounts of scroll captures. This way, people can unlock the dyes by playing normally without being forced to play pvp for some colours and pve for others.

i would very much like a part of the color choice to be the hands of the crafter, after all I am the one choosing which mats to use in the creation process so why not just allow us to choose a color 'tint' during that process. then afterwards allow players to 'dye' that piece with an achievement reward but they are limited to the color palette range of the original 'tint' chosen by the crafter. either way...yaaaaayyy for dyes! :)

I can't wait for dyes. I just hope they won't be impossible to find/craft. Also, that they include pink. <3:)

I would be cool if instead of just colors if it also allowed styles, such as faction emblems or embellished armors with ivory or gold trim and whatnot. (kind of like advanced armors but for simpler armors.)

I call dibs on buying the first set of black dyed nightblade armor.
If I am going to quote someone, it's going to be me.
