Blacksmithing exp gain get smaller ?

I've made my character craft a lot with blacksmithing, clothing, enchanting and woodcutting. I've spent more skill point though on Blacksmithing then any other crafting skills making Blacksmithing my main focus but I feel like i gain less experience (or inspiration) smithing armor then clothing and woodcutting. Even my other crafting skills are now higher then Blacksmithing.

Is it just me or after around level 10 blacksmithing, it's harder to gain experience/inspiration in this particular skill? I hope it's just me and I'm wrong.

Are you deconstructing elements you have already made yourself. That will give you a very small return.

I can't say I've noticed, managed to nearly max my Blacksmith out in 2 weeks and I'm a casual player.

Yes, when you deconstruct blacksmithing items you get about two times less XP than for woodworking items. Clothing ones are in between, closer to the blacksmithing ones.

I believe this XP is balanced by the amount of drops for each of the professions. You find much more metal stuff around than wooden ones. I leveled all three professions as my character leveled. No trading or exchange with others, I was only deconstructing the loot items. Metalsmithing was a bit behind clothing/woodworking up to about lvl18, later it became the leader and I hit lvl50 in metalsmithing when my woodworking was still lvl45.

Oh that could be it then. I did noticed I had a lot more heavy armor and weapons to deconstruct every time I return to town. Thanks, you've been helpful you two !!
