Do we need a fresh set of PTS testers?

I know some of the bugs were reported in PTS and it just takes time for the devs to get to them but I can also tell that some were not reported by certain players. These players then took advantage of this knowledge and use it against everyone else for a unfair advantage. A few examples of this are mist form, bat swarm, bolt escape which are all game breaking in certain situations(scroll running is one of these). Maybe if we had a new set of testers with a fresh look at the game we could find more of these bugs and balance the exploitable abilities before they hit the live server.

And let me guess, you are volunteering to be on PTS, right?

I can't speak for everybody on the PTS server, but i have submitted thousands of /bug and /feedback reports since October.
And i have yet to come across anyone on PTS who knowingly did *not* report an issue to later benefit from it on LIVE.

All the issues you mention in your post were indeed already reported and discussed on the PTS forums long before launch.

    It's a double edged sword.

On 1 hand they kind of need experienced players to identify the bugs and report them, on the other hand there are always those among those experienced players that will keep things to themselves to take advantage of once the game goes live. Game developers have gotten better at tracking testers over the years, but some things will always slip through the cracks.

At any rate, the PTS should be opened to all (and will be soon according to ZoS) once a game launches and devs need content tested, much larger pool to draw from and find problems.

"security through obscurity is an illusion"

more people running around on the PTS = higher likelyhood of finding an issue and getting it reported. of course it depends on zos in any case, a chain is only as good as it's weakest link...

Not only did PTS players report these bugs, but we b*tched about them so frequently I'm surprised they still exist.

When cheap fast ultimate's were a problem (DK standard spam) you know what they did? They altered the werewolf passive because at the time that was what player were using. They didn't think:
    • "Hey, if cheap ultimate's are a big problem by having cost reduction and fast generation maybe we should look into other area's and fix those as well"

Anyway, the PTS server needs to be open ASAP. There just are not enough players. There are only a handful of groups who can really test the trials.
