All the things I HATE about this game.

It's easy enough to see all the good things, because they're what makes it fun. The sounds, music, graphics. The story, the little quests off to the side and their little stories.

But there's things about this game, that are really beginning to annoy me, to such an extent I'm actually stopping playing and quitting out to play something more relaxing.

The obvious things:
5 slots - There's a ton of arguments that it makes the game more challenging. Actually I don't think it does, I think it makes the game too simple. More keys, more abilities would force economical use of mana and stamina. Having only 2 buttons to mash doesn't really. Having more, would make it a lot more interesting.

Bank and Inventory - Starting the game, making a 2nd alt, you realise you share the same space, then you make one on another realm and realise you are still sharing the same space. 8 characters sharing 60 slots? That's what 8 slots of bank space each? Then there's the cost of 600,000 gold to get all the slots.

Enchanting - Basically all you need is Fire/Ice and Lightning. As well as Health, Majika and Stamina. Having the hundred other enchants.. makes it look really nice that there's choice and all that.. but most of them are utterly useless.

Alchemy - The ability to poison yourself.. really? Is there a point? Even if you make a hundred pots of each, even if you go into battle armed with 20 various potions.. what is the use of a potion that lasts 15 seconds? When have you had to chance in a fight to use more than one.. and that's the one you have equipped. You can't exactly switch mid fight to a different one. The design here is totally user unfriendly. Would be great if you could put 20 pots in 20 slots and then choose which one you want during a series of battles. Ability to pick one per fight, doesn't equal challenge, it equals a pointless skill.

Provisioning - LoL - Way too many things to gather, no specific location to get it from, except fish and I only have 1 fish recipe. Never got the fish for it tho. I had at one point 3 mules carrying enough items to produce a hundred pies, cakes, drinks and so forth.. at lv 4,5,6. Try getting to level 4.. that's a massive waste of bank space right there, collecting what you need, to get the level in provisioning up. By the time you get lvl 40.. you're still only making level 12 food.

Lack of an Auction house you can sort things out in.. even with guild trading, there's no method to sort out any stock of any kind. Can't even type in a name of an item and actually look for what you want. It's like the most basic, tool, you could make. It's almost a generic tool.

The not so obvious things:
The game design, the questing system: Very Anti Social.
MMO means Massively Multiplayer Online. It means, lots of people, playing a game.
But that doesn't mean they're all playing solo. It used to mean, they were all playing together. The questing system in Eso, makes it almost impossible to group with your friends. They've completed quests you haven't you've complete quests they haven't and if there's 4 of you in a group.. that's alot of quests that have or haven't been completed. Then there's partial points of each quest.. people keep phasing out, you can't see your mate, because he's done this part, you can't help him, because you've done this part. It's really.. REALLY annoying.

The Lag.. MegaServer.. Clearly Zos don't have the hardware to use Mega Servers. Get into a fight with 20 mages all firing off lightning, 20 templars all hammering out heals.. darkblades vanishing, jumping and popping 20m away.. dragon kinghts howling out buffs and pulling and charging mobs. And you begin to see your character is swinging his sword 25 minutes after you told him to. That's pretty damn laggy. Or you're nailed to the ground thinking it's time to reloadui but it's actually due to the fact you died 15 minutes ago, the server just hasn't pointed this out to you.

Reloadui - Every 2-3 fights.. That's what I want during a fight, my guy stops dead, can't swing, can't cast, can't even drink a potion that I've totally forgotten he has. Have to type /reloadui and wait for the game to refresh, a loading screen pops up, it refreshes.. you're dead. Again. For no reason. Killed by a mob that sucked you to death.

Gold Spammers and Botters. - The fact that I need to use an external addon to block spammers.. is enough to leave the game in itself. And nothing is being done about botters.. I don't care if zos say they banned a thousand accounts.. or ten thousand. They didn't make a dent in the numbers of people using scripts.

These are the things I HATE about this game.

I'd disagree with that notion. The feat/spell cost reduction enchantments can be quite useful, as well health/magicka/stamina absorption or regeneration enchantments.
The usefulness of various types of enchantments depends a lot on your playstyle and in part on your racials/skill line passives.

Provisioning could use a change regarding how ingredients are gathered. Things like mudcrab meat should actually be found on the corresponding creatures rather than gathered from a dusty urn in some long-forgotten tomb.
Garlic and other herbs could be gathered in the wilderness, which again would make more sense than getting it from urns.

PAWS (Positively Against Wrip-off Stuff) - Say No to Crown Crates!. Outfit slots not being accountwide is ridiculous given their price. PC EU/PC NA roleplayer and solo PvE quester

If you can find enough of the right resources, are willing to grind enchanting up to the point where you can use it. Maybe so.

But you'll level clothing, blacksmiths, even woodworking 5x as fast as enchanting, even alchemy is easier to level up.

By the time you've leveled enchanting up to the point you can use it in endgame.. you'll have stopped playing endgame. You're better off, using the random enchantments you find in the field. Sure if you're lucky enough to get some decent ones, use them. Likely.. you'll just get the usual carp. In which case, enchanting as a skill is pointless. The sheer scale and lack of exp gained, plus the requirements to find 3 individual items in the field, make it pointless.

Blacksmithing, find one item, smelt it, use it.
      Tailoring, 1 item, refine, use.
      Wood.. same.

Alchemy, find random items, 2 of, plus water (fairly easy to find) use to make potions. Finding enough to make the amounts needed. Fairly pointless skill, unless you have alot of bots running around gathering.

Enchanting.. you're gonna need alot of bots.

Provisioning.. even more so. Plus the end product is about as useful as potions. Very short term, can only use 1 effect at a time.. given the massive amount of groundwork needed for an end product, noone really needs. Kinda pointless.

No, they are not useless, its just that you have not found a use for them.

Really not seen any major lag and that is playing in the EU, but I have not had more than about 30 people on screen at one time. I suspect it might be a graphics issue in light of what is below.

Reloadui - never. I updated my drivers for ESO launch and have not needed to do a reload since then, had a few in the beta weekends. I would suggest you check your driver versions and see if they need updating.

No way of getting round the fact that people will create accounts for botting, there have been less of them around in the last couple of days, especially in the public dungeons.

I pretty much agree with everything here. The OP is talking about things (specifically the later) that I have never encountered and I haven't really heard any complaints about (reloading all the time and lag)

I am actually amazed at the little amount of lag there has been for so close to launch.

once you start putting some money into bank storage and come up with a plan to use alts to hold mats and stuff, it gets manageable. My main has 91 bag space now, and its much better. All my gold has gone into bank / inv upgrades. Its only been a few weeks since launch, in time I'll have all the bank upgrades and then I can breathe.

crafting is just as annoying as it is in every other mmo ive played. so far it hasnt really panned out, I outlevel or find drops that are better than my crafted gear in a few hours. However, I feel that it will be worth it later on, with crafted sets and a sense of being independent. Ill stick with it out of stubborness

runecrafting is insane the number of runes, most of which you cant use at any one time, so you end up with all your bank filled with runes waiting for that magical time you can finally use them.

i dont have to reloadui except for rare occassions, and it usually happens after I have been playing for hours. Quitting the game entirely seems to clear up the caches and i can play again with no problems.

there is some combat lag where the animations dont seem to keep up with keystrokes, this could be fatal in pvp. In pve hitting esc seems to jostle it to work again

the rampant cheating is insane and annoying but it doesnt affect my game that much. so they get a fast horse... whoopie. so they get epic gear.. whoopie. only affects pvp and i avoid that for that same reason

my advice to you, dont craft, doesnt seem to be needed in game and you can buy what you need off other crafters. there goes your inventory problems now, plenty of room.

look into what is causing your reloadui prob. that is most concerning, hope tech support can help you.

ignore the botters, cheaters dont get ahead, they end up quitting soon or being banned.

Enjoying the game very much atm but some of your points are quite correct.
      Certainly regarding missing auction house.

The things that I miss: (but I don't hate that they are not in, just disappointed)

      - thieves' guild and dark brotherhood
      - cosmetic system
      - dye system
      - chat bubble toggle
      - housing
      - generic quests
      - arena's and pvp scenario's ( examples: Rift, GW2)
      - reason to do dungeons more than once
      - alternatives for VR levelling, because I do not wish to do the other alliances' quests as a dunmer in time of war.
      - a keybind to use a potion instead if the quickbind thing there is now, I really hate that.

Lag and reloadui hasn't really been a problem, until i got to coldharbour. Now it's a problem. I have my current drivers updated, as well as sound, motherboard and other drivers all uptodate. I'm amazed you're saying you don't have the problem, because almost everyone I meet says the same thing.

Btw, the EU server, is in the usa.

As for the others, I think you're missing my point.
alchemy is fairly ok, because you can pretty much ignore many plants you see, you can visually "see" which ones you need to collect.
Enchanting.. you can see if it's blue, green or red. Thats it. I'm the same as reg, bank is full of runes, in fact lately, i've started deleted the ones I only have one or two of, to create bank space. I now have 4 mules, with 80 bankspace. (just for runes)

Provisioning, maybe I need to go back to low level areas and look for specific items, because I just can't even make food/drink anymore, there's nothing to level up with. At one point I have 41 capon meat which you can't even use until level 4-5 don't even know what capon is.. I agree that items should be found in obvious places I also think food item vendors should be abit easier to find. I don't mean the ones selling foods, but the ones selling ingredients (knew i'd spell that wrong)

"TL;DR posts" never fail to amaze me.
Normally people would simply move on. You literally took the time to tell everyone how poorly you read, and how little your attention span is. As if you're bragging about it.

However do you make it through an mmorpg or any rpg when you consider paragraphs a "novel". Why would you even comment? Are you trying to make the OP feel bad? By declaring yourself an illiterate clod? You're on a forum with nothing but reading, and you complain when a single post is more than one paragraph? Why are you here?! In a place with nothing BUT reading. Are you a masochist?

As for the subject. I agree with most save the provisioning.
Provisioning is the easiest thing in the game to level. I had it capped at 50 before hitting character level 40.

And the food is invaluable. As a nightblade/vampire, having constant magicka and stamina regeneration is awesome.

Also as for enchanting uses, I use magicka/stamina/health absorb on dual daggers.

The game hasn't even been out a month yet. Give it some time. No game is perfect when they first release. I suggest continuing posts like this so that the developers can see the issues they need to address and implement them. As for the random mud crab meat in vases and such....its Elder Scrolls...you should be used to that by now. :P

#1. 5 slots - I'm pretty sure this is done to keep with the fast paced action of the game. You constantly have to move out of enemy attacks, reposition yourself, etc, therefore your fingers should be pretty much in the same position (WASD) at all times. The old style of MMO skills with several action bars from 1 through = assumed that a) you won't be moving that much in battle, so your fingers can be on the numbers row, or b) you'll be clicking skills rather than pressing the keys.

#2. The costs for the first few upgrades really aren't that high. You just can't loot everything you see. Pick and choose wisely. And feed your horse.

#3. Nothing wrong with variety, and you never know when some of those things you consider useless might come in handy one day. The best thing about TES is it doesn't force you into a cookier cutter mold. This is not something to complain about.

#4. 15 seconds is quite a while actually, I've played games where pots only last for 5 seconds. This could work great for burn phases. Think of it as a cooldown akin to other MMOs, except not. Also, there's a great quickslots addon that lets you bind pots to hotkeys (and then press your default key to use them)

      #5. Refer to #2.

#6. I agree the market system could use work. I'd like to see all guild banks linked together, so you can purchase items across guilds (with a buy-in-guild-only feature). That way they could still retain the idea of having to be part of a guild to join the market, and the market would be much less chaotic. Search is also necessary, but that goes without saying.

#7. The phasing system could be modified to allow players to help their friends with quests they've already completed.

#8. I really don't notice that much lag actually. I see some delay sometimes in guild chat and mails. Then there's the whole endless "retrieving items" at guild banks, but I think that's more a bug since I can just switch back and forth between guilds and it'll eventually work. Haven't noticed any gamebreaking lag though. Sure, Cyrodiil could get laggy with a lot of people, but what do you expect? That isn't necessarily an issue with the megaserver itself, could be an issue with your client being unable to receive that much data at once.

#9. reloadui is not the answer for this bug. Hit your windows key to and click back in the game to refocus it. This will fix it for you.

#10. Gold spammers and bots is a fact of every MMO. It's just something we have to deal with, keep reporting and blocking them and rest assured ZOS is taking it very seriously and doing everything they can to stop them.

Btw, there's nothing wrong with addons. The system is there for a reason, it's encouraged by ZOS. My only hope is that ZOS is watching the most popular addons closely and eventually plans to natively implement the functionality of them.

I agree with some points. Mostly the AH. I really, really do not like having to rely on guild stores. But that's been debated to death.

Provisioning is easy though. Pick one or two recipes that you know you can use (I focus on certain stews and wines, since they increase magicka/magicka regen) and then just gather the components for that. I was maxed out in provisioning before I hit level 38.

To me, alchemy is just not worth it. So much gathering for so little reward.

Reloadui - I've been doing a little research into this. It always occurs in large fights, I think I'm mashing buttons too quickly in some cases and the game just stops responding to my input, if I wait a few seconds 10 or so, and survive that long, my key presses start responding again. On other occasions, it's when I am knocked down by mobs, it's not that I'm "stunned" for 2-3 seconds, if so, I'm stunned for 10 seconds.. I think it breaks the game. I've actually tried the alt tab, click back to game and it does fix the problem, at it is faster than typing reloadui.

As for lag, specifically, quests areas like close the tears in the khajitt villages and talk to 2 individuals.. lost village.. it think it is, groups of 6-8 daedra, I get alot of lag in there, often the screen freezes and I am just waiting for it to update to respawn. I can kill the entire group without the lag.. but with it i don't stand a chance. I've actually started playing later in the evening, when usa and many eu players are offline.

As for provisioning, nah sorry.. I need rank 20 to increase to lvl 3 food.. I spent 4 hours tonight, running around docks in bal foren and stonefalls and dungeons looking for low level foods, besides filling my inv really fast, I ended up making enough foods to get me from lv 7 to lv 9. The biggest issue with this is food is totally random drops.. kills snakes and you're lucky to get snake venom in 1 in 50 kills. Yet, you'll get guts in 9/10 scuttler kills.

I have enough items now to make over 100 foods in ranks 3/4/5 foods. And nothing to get rank 1 up. I've found an ingredients vender somewhere, could buy stuff for 21g each.. but I can't find the guy again.. that would be handy.. there's a guy in coldharbour who sells higher level items.. for 68g each.

Need to check what rank i am.. sure it's rank 1.. might be 2.

I agree with some of your points OP but don't understand why you think provisioning is hard to level. I am level 20 and my provisioning is at 46. Keep checking those crates dude.

Sorry for my grammar, I am not a native speaker. Here is few things I hate about this game, these are also gamestoppers for me:

      - re-speccing your toon is damn too expensive
      - lack of auction house or similar system to get what I need
      - too few slots for skills
      - I am a clicker so I would like to have an option to make my UI mouse-driven so I can click my skillbuttons instead of using numberkeys
      - bot armies

      IMO, I do dislike the majority of the game. However;

5 slots: I like it. The skills are rarely cheap, so you do have to manage your mana/stam (especially when you add to it my abilities don't have CD). I like that it makes me think about how each ability relates to the rest of my choices. It is limiting, but it promotes critical thinking imo. It's limiting, but in a good way.

Bank. OK, it is a bit small, but with 8 character slots and 4 classes....I just made 4 mule characters. Add in the money sink of upgrades +10, it's not too bad.

Enchanting. OK, a lot seem useless to me too, but the game is young and we can't give a definative answer here yet. Take flame resist, I thought it would be useless, then I realized that a Vamp would love a couple of those.

Alchemy. Yea, I do hate that I can poison and heal myself at the same time. I thought I was making poisons at first (like in Skyrim), so I made a bunch, then found out I had a bunch of things I made to kill me.... I think 15 seconds for the buffs are good. They are there more for a burst damage boost/etc than anything else. I'm fine with the 15 seconds.

Provisioning. The game wasn't really designed for you to pick up everything. I do agree that provisioning seems designed for masochists though...

AH. With a megaserver....they couldn't really implement one without having everything sell for 1g. The guild store is a good idea in theory, but good luck finding what you want without some /zone WTB X....

The quests are antisocial. The game feels like an MMO where there are a million other players playing as individuals. Phasing makes it worse. To make matters worse, the Story isn't worth all the problems of making a single player MMO experience...."HE GOD, HE BAD, YOU CHOSEN, YOU GOOD, YOU SLAY?, YOU HOORAY!!!!" is about as much detail you need to know the story.

Bots are a common problem in all MMO's (though ZOS should have been more prepared imo).

The rest, I'm not an expert on that stuff, but lag is an unfortunate expectation for a new MMO.

this game is full of bugs, i cant even believe its life... it doesnt matter how much people defend it or bash it, the truth is that, in its current state the game its not a quality product, is just a wanna be next gen MMO and so far it havent even reach a full game develop... this game will soon join SWTOR

Ok, from a solo play point of view, 5 slots might have you managing mana and stam, in group play, there's no need to manage either. I've always got tons of mana and stam in group fights. You just don't use much before a fight is over, it's only really the mini bosses that drain it all.

I honestly think that if you have 6-8 it would even out and most people would be happy.. as it is.. most actually aren't. But they're willing to ignore the issue.

Making the bank upgrade, at a level of 60 slots.. is insulting. Over 8 character slots? It's almost like they intended a free play game then found out it would be pay as you go and forgot to take it out. How any of you can see it as plausible is totally beyond me. You're given 8 bank slots to put items into per character. That's a joke..

The lack of an auction house, essentially forces everyone into zonechat, blatently obvious to anyone, even zos that this would be the case. What do they do? nothing.. allow guilds turn into basic, auction houses. 500 player max, each with 20 items, 10k items. Sounds great on paper.. reality.. no actual decent gear.. it's all lv 1-5 swords, the odd staff, no materials.. then there's no real sorting ability, no type in name. It's dreadful. The tax and charges, should be directed to the guild to allow the purchase of expansions and addins. But essentially zos try to steal, yes STEAL. 25% of all sales. Do they really think people are going to seriously sell items enmass to loose a quarter of their earnings.. this isn't real life, it's a game.

Want to reduce the amount of money in the game, reduce the amount of money in loot and quest drops. Stop stealing it off the people that work damn hard to get it.

I'm paying RL cash, to someone to play a game, only to have them STEAL my time off me +25% on every item I sell, + 250 a day on horse, + repairs +bank expansions. +inv expansions

Want my RL cash.. ? No wonder people feel like they've been scammed.. because they have. This isn't a game we've bought, it's a punishment for being stupid enough to think that an Elder Scrolls "online" game, would actually be as good as the others.

      It's lazy.

It's like splitting a stack in your inv, you can't click in the box and type a number, you have to manually click 1 unit at a time. It's a joke.. seriously. How can you have a click in box to deposit money and not to split items? How can they not have realised this?

As usual, the art, graphics, sound and music tech.. carries the game, the guys that designed the quests carry the game. The people that were supposed to join all of the above together.. what happened? Did they get lost on the way to work everyday??

I've played Civ 5 for 3267 hours. That's because it is a good game. I played Skyrim for 2334 hours, that because it's a good game. I played wow for 4 years. Because it was kinda good ish.. ESO, it's going the same way as dungeons and dragons, saga of rysoms, horizons, warhammer, age of conan, age of camelot.. they also all tried and failed miserably.

I HATE that the squirrels and mud crabs look like nodes from a distance.

I HATE that the sky is not purple, blue is so like every other MMO.

I HATE that when I craft, I don't always set stuff right and the game gives me something I don't want.

I HATE that in combat I have to push more than one button to kill stuff! What the hell Zenimax, MOAR THAN ONE BUTTON!?!?!?!

I HATE that I am level 32! I HATE level 32, it sucks! 31 is a cooler number and I kind of dig the number 42 for historic reasons, but 32 just makes me MAAAD!

OH, dang, I almost forgot how much I HATE the friggin dandelion eating, pointy ears, elf freaks! All their smug, look at us, we're so awesome because we remember the days when you had to ride your dinosaur to work! Whatever, sheesh, HATE EM!

What else do you hate in the game?
