Do you Believe Lack of Inventory Space May Cause Some Cancellations?

  • night0blade
    Yes
Yes, People have cancelled for more ground breaking issues and far less ones. So this is right up the alley of those entitled.

    2) The people who were still unhappy, but weren't here on the forums, were playing the game... which means, if they are unhappy with it, they're not unhappy enough to stop playing. Which means they aren't going to be part of the "I quit" camp.

    Or they're watching TV.

    Maybe
Maybe, maybe not. Not really worth quitting over imo, we eventually get more inventory space.

You eventually cant upgrade your bag space from the bag merchant tho (bug?), and I think they need to change that. I want more bag space upgrades by the 10!! Now upgrading it through the daily horse feed... one at a time.

I really dont want to have to resort to creating alts just to hold stuff. Thats really not my thing.

I believe INDIRECTLY the inventory space and management will result in cancellations. Here's why:

Alot of this game's "extra meta content" is based on crafting, harvesting and collecting stuff like set items. The way inventory is used (too many different items that don't stack, i mean just look at the freaking potion situation!) is already making ME (and most likely others) stop bothering with that entire aspect of the game. I sell it all, i don't bother to craft with any real focus, as i don't want to micro manage my inventory. There's also no way i'm going to invest in fishing and ESPECIALLY not provisioning (food) as there is just so many different materials involved.

So end result? People level their characters, don't bother to engage in maybe in what might be 30% of the game and hit the level cap and walk away saying how the game lacked content and how crafting sucked...

Lets face it; this is the bottom line. If people unsub for something like this and Zenimax loses money, it will be fixed.

What Zenimax has failed to understand is that we all get that they placed a soft cap on professions by limiting inventory space. I get this for EACH character. But it makes no sense for shared storage. Shared storage should have hundreds of empty slots.

If some leave for such a trivial matter, then goodbye and good riddance, nothing of value was lost.

Where is "I don't care" option? Because I really don't care if some kids will cancel their subs because they were incapable of managing their junk.

Oh wait... actually I do care! I would be happy if they leave, because I don't want to play with guys, who fails on such simple task.
@d0e1ow: There is no singular thing within a game's little ecosystem that will convince you that you hate the game, hate your life, and hate everyone around you faster than the game's official forums will.

Last comment I will make on this. Other games have handled storing of crafting mats better.

Why did Zenimax not create a separate storage space for crafting mats? They could have still limited it. As it stands now, it is beginning to feel like they do not want me to craft. Mats are available but I have limited space to keep them. Even our guild bank is having to be managed constantly due to space issues. We have played together in another game, I never remember seeing a message from the guild leader about having to clear out the bank. Worse this is happening only after the game has been out for 2 weeks.

What will space issues be like after a month and most of us are veterans playing in the other non-alliance zones?

    That would be nice.

I basically stopped bothering with crafting. I want to quest more and sell less, so I've stopped picking stuff up. I love exploring and checking each barrel but it's just filling up my inventory - and, no, despite what the little notices say, I cannot do 'provisioning' from my bank. It just tells me I have no ingredients.

But after you give up on crafting, you can quest for quite a long time without having to return to sell.

This was basically my solution after I completed provisioning to 50. I do deconstruct the gear drops for the one craft I would like for my weapons/armor, because I'd be picking these up to sell anyway, but I just sell drops otherwise, pocket the money, no need to spend it on anything other than horse feed (no need to upgrade inventory or bank further, either), and far fewer trips back to town. It's the crafting system that is fulcrum of the inventory mini-game, if you take it seriously, which it seems many do.

I already posted my No and left my reasons for my opinion as to what some other person may or may not do.

After posting and checking the forums I went back to playing the game.

While playing I never saw any mention of lack of bag or bank space. I did see, typed in chat, between scrolling gold spam, complaints by people that claimed to be allowing their subs run out due to the amount of gold spammers and bots.

This included gold spammers getting through the spam filters, even people with spam filter add-ons, that were unable to stop them.
In game Mail and even Guild Invites sent by gold spammers seem to have become a larger issue than anything dealing with bag space.

I know this thread is about bag space and the "people that may quit" because of the management of bag space, but I saw no comments to anything about bag space, other than where to get more space, in chat.

It seems that bag space is a less relevant issue than other things that are more noticeable in the game, at least enough to take their minds off of where to stash their junk. :)

As I (opinion as stated before) have pointed out that there are normally many reasons for someone to quit a game, even if just for an hiatus to see if it gets "better", it normally is a cumulative set of reasons do actually do so.

There is not much of a lack of inventory space anyway (doing all the crafting and farming and carrying around LOTS of stuff - I'm ok), but sure there would be cancellations.

People are whiners now. Some of them, but many.

For the last time this mmo has more than enough inventroy space -.- And for those who complain they can always leave.

Busy spending my time cleaning up inventories again so i can play. May not make me or others quit but I suspect it will be a contributing factor.

As for it being designed as a soft cap - I am not trying to do them all I am trying to do them in a way that is compatible with my play style. If I am levelling 4 alts then I may well need 4 different levels of raw materials even if I choose to skip the inventory intensive ones. I think it is poorly designed as a soft cap since it targets the person playing one character well and not the rest of us.

You ok with paying $30 per month to cover it or $45? If so - how many other people will be ok with it too?

And my poll question isn't based on if YOU will cancel. Read it again. DO you think OTHER players will cancel? So choose carefully because if you were honest and saw all the complaints this should be an 80% figure.

    This premise is so silly.

If you want to know if people are as outraged as you, you should ask them "Are you outraged by this?"

What possible information could be gleaned by asking "Hey, what do you think that guy who you've never met before thinks?"

Personally, I hate all crafting. Since playing MMO's since 1999 I have only really done crafting in DAoC (extremely painful) and SWTOR (extremely easy). I'm a raider/dungeon crawler/pvp'r at heart. Crafting makes my eyes bleed. Questing does more than enough to keep my bags full. I've read about the issues with alchemy and the like and want no part of it regardless of how impactive it is to my end game character. I'll quit before I'm forced to craft "playing the way you want" in this game. Having shared slots for crafting and loot is just beyond ***.
