NB- Using skills while invisible (shadow cloak)

I’ve been searching all the internet for a while now concerning this and haven’t seen it discussed so I decided to ask it straight up:

I have been having some trouble using certain skills from “stealth”, specifically after using shadow cloak. For example when fighting a target I will use shadow cloak in melee range and then try and use Wrecking Blow (uppercut) after but a lot of the time my character will not initiate the attack. I have shadow cloak morphed into shadowy disguise so I want to pull off the attack for the added crit chance bonus. At first I thought that maybe it was because of wrecking blow being a weapon skill as apposed to a class skill like veiled strike which always works in stealth. But not only does the description for shadow cloak not mention anything about the type of attacks your able to use after it but sometimes I am in fact able to use wrecking blow from stealth, so it appears like it is intended to use any skill. If I time clicking wrecking blow, maybe a mili-second after using shadowy disguise sometimes my character will successfully use the skill while stealthed. But this is in ideal situations, standing still against a mob. Most of the time I will try and use the skill but my character just stands there even if Im spamming wrecking blow it will not start the attack until the invisibility of shadowy disguise wears off.

The invisibility for shadow cloak is 2.5 seconds and the cast time for wrecking blow is 1 second so I feel like this should be doable even with any pre or after-cast times of either skill. (and with the Dark Veil passive the time to use wrecking blow shouldn’t be a problem at all to receive the full crit bonus) I was just wondering if maybe somewhere there is an intended block for using certain skills while stealthed or if it is just a bug and if anyone has figured out a reliable way to get around this bug.

yeah some powers...ok a lot of them...cancel the shadow cloak and invisibility effect from nightblades. Bows, all staves, two handed weapons....just seam to cancel it. Also some powers have a winds up.
Nightblade stealth for example the power from the shadow skill has a wind up of you putting up your weapons and becoming invisible....that's .5 time gone.
Add in another power that has a windup followed by a long execution and yes your power will not work with it.

I keep telling the developers they need to make the duration on the nightblade stealth longer...but they decided it looked good on paper and obviously have not really used it....other wise they would notice it being canceled.

You wont have these issues with potions of invisibility though....which are far superior.

Nightblade shadow powered stealth cancels you out of your sneak....but an invisibility potion stacks with it and last longer too.

Potions have no windup......nightblade shadow stealth though will cancel a potion invisibility.

PVP wise this means anytime it cancels another stealth effect...you will appear for a moment.

Yes this means at some point they broke the power...to make it I am sure they will say more balanced....go figure if everyone else does 5 times you damage with a differing power for less energy...and doesn't have to see you to hit with their huge area of effects.

hmm....you will also find the powers that increase your stealth ratings(ie the decrease notice distance etc etc)...don't do anything....I don't know if that's intended or not.....as that could be a system they are still working on...and have not actually gotten it all the way to where they want it.

As you noticed your skill no matter how high it is...doesn't do anything for the invisibility...this is the same for the invisibility potions....they work just as well making a level 1 as a super high level version....only difference being a name change.

This could be as I said due to a work in progress thing....as this seams like one of the only skill sets where players don't get a bonus for high levels instead we get a penalty for having it and trying to use it.

Stealth and invisibility in games are some of my favorite things....in this game....doesn't work very well at all.

As I said in other posts....I feel like a weak fighter more then a nightblade or assassin type.
Its frustrating to not even be able to scout ahead....or be able to turn invisible go around some target and back stab it, or even sneak by most things.
Its like the guy next to me in the heavy armor is sneaking better then I can....
and supposedly...I have this training to turn invisible.

Sorry I am getting into rant mode...need to stop....hope this answers some questions.....I guess you could say I try to use stealth a lot

oh by the way...wanted to add in...you took the same effect I like to take...
the other power doesn't work in combat so not sure why its a morph option in the first place.

There are a lot of NB skills not even working as described or plain not working.. This really needs attention.. Probably the only class that has this much skills broken at the moment..

There is another post about broken skills for this class, I say we just list them all on there. With the mods it is easy to test what the skill says, but even our % are not working as we scale up, but aside from that skills just do not work period.

Take the sneak attack stun, flat out will not work while inside path of darkness.. It works fine if I shadow and hit a NPC , but if I use path of darkness then shadow and hit NPC never stuns them.. I have put in support tickets on each and every one of these issues. I suggest all night blades do the same. This need serious attention..
