I posted a fair bit on the ESO forums set up by Beth before these forums came online. It was basically a collection of one-eyed ESO followers that slammed and insulted anyone who disagreed with the payment model or pointed out potential limitations of the game.

Despite the overwhelming fanboism on that forum, toward the end these same people were moaning about how all the criticism of the game would magically go away once the real forums came online, because the sub-model would eliminate the "riff-raff" and "trolls" that were behind the very moderate criticism of the game on those forums.

I laughed and said many times that the real ***-storm would come when the game went live. So to the one-eyed fans of the previous forums please note- I TOLD YOU SO. Not even the convoluted set up of this forum, which is the worst forum set up I have ever seen in any mmo, has been able to dam the flood.

On the bright side I expect this storm of complaints will die down over the next few months. However, do not delude yourself that the return to calm will be because of the sub-based payment model. It will be because the early teething issues get sorted.

People on the old forum were claiming that the complaints about the sub model would be gone, not that there would be no complaints whatsoever.

And so far, they were right. There are complaints about having to set up a sub to get 30 free days, about slow customer support, about game bugs, about design decisions(bag space, quickslots)but precious few about the game having a sub model.

Many people have posted a negative opinion about the sub-model on this forum as well, likely you haven't noticed because this has been drowned out by the storm of other complaints.

BTW the criticism of the game on the previous forums was not limited to the sub-model and you fanbois were actually crying in general for the new forums, which in your minds would apparently be purged of the "riff-raff" that had anything remotely negative to say about the game.

I hope you enjoy your new utopian forums, unfortunately I see that you are still unable to see past the blinders.

No, but 90% of it was about just that.

Actually, only 10.5% of criticism was directed toward the sub-based payment model. The rest comprised items such as inventory space, progression stopping bugs, the UI, mods and addons, and the big one comparisons with Skyrim.

I can understand why you thought it was 90%. The trick is to take the rose colored glasses off before you look around.

considering where you posted this (PvE content > Main Story), i guess i must agree that you do indeed have a terrible time navigating the forums. good luck to you in the entire real world, let alone here.

The only people who have been negative and personally insulting on this thread are you and the other fanbois, which is very reminiscent of the previous Bethesda eso forum.

Personally I am hoping to have another "I told you so" moment in relation to the last paragraph of my OP.

You don't see this as a negative comment? You are being insulting here as well. Either way, cool story bro.

Edit to add: Also, what does this have to do with PvE Content/Main Quest?

    Nope.

The people who have the game can complain to their hearts content. There are issues and problems and glitches, and I've made complaint posts as well.

What is gone [or should that be Who is gone?] are all the people ranting about the game who proclaimed they were never going to buy it; they hated x/y/z about it; it was going to cause the destruction of sentient life in this sector of the galaxy and would repeat to infinity that it was something they would NEVER BUY. But they would continue to post about not buying it and all the negative stuff on the forum. Along with multiple flame-baits about waiting until the game goes free to play in x hours before they'd get the game.

Those people are gone. Unless/until their prediction comes true. That won't be an issue for me though because if the game goes free to play, I'm gone. I won't play it.

I agree there were some weird totally negative rants, but I never really bothered about them- to me blind white knighting that tries to stifle critical debate and feedback about a game is a lot more annoying and damaging than some obviously silly rant about the end of the world as we know it.

In fact a lot of the issues we see now in the forums were brought up, but posters were ridiculed and attacked by the fanbois. If the criticism were taken seriously we might have seen some action.

In terms of going f2p, I don't think the business model has much bearing on whether a game is good or bad. I just play games I think are great and stop playing when I get bored or want to try a new game.
