Forum friends:what do you do so you don't get bored ?

Sadly, I'm starting to get bored but I love eso. I can't find other rpgmmos that match what eso offers me. This is just my personal opinion.
I'm bored with dungeons cos they are just speed runs. I'm bored with events cos therdcarectoo many too close together but I still do these things cos I don't want to miss out lol
I've done all the trials and got the gear I wanted.Got my master angler. Am grandmaster Crafter...collected all my set stations Did all my scribing quests and got station. Done arenas and sometimes I do endless archive. I've got all my companions.ive decorated homes . Done battlegrounds and other pvp but not interested in pvp, anymore.

The only thing i can think of doing is total zone clears cos even though I got Caldwell's gold on main, I have side quests and some skywards still to get.
I'm feeling a bit stagnant right now but I've put so much time and energy into eso, it's hard to leave it even to take a break right now.
I'm not young anymore so I can't get into hardcore content cos my stamina is not there for it.
I've even joined almost every guild in tamriel and they end up all being very similar so I don't join guilds anymore. More of a solo player.
Any suggestions?

Start over, new server or account depending on what you have currently. Make it so you can't power-level your new characters but are taking it from the beginning completely fresh. Play a maximum 2 or 3 hours per day to avoid burn-out. If there's a class you haven't played then play it.

Otherwise, if you feel you've done it all and can't bear to do it again, then just move on. There are other games to play, other things to do in life.

I take a break from eso. It might last from days to years. Familiarity breeds contempt and absence makes the heart grow fonder.

There is some internal resistance sometimes, but once I push myself to do it, I always realize it was definitely the right choice.

I often uninstall eso to take a break, even if it's for less than a day.
At the minimum it guarantees at least an hour break (to reinstall) even if I immediately change my mind. :)

I play other games all the time. Spending all your time on one game is unhealthy.

Better yet, do other activities. Mix up your hobbies.

This. Though I've never been bored in any game I've ever played; for instance still playing Skyrim and Oblivion, 7 years in ESO; 10 years in WoW, 3 or so in RIFT.... Left those two games because they went in directions I knew I wasn't going to think were fun.

I just have so many alts to play that I couldn't be bored I guess! Every girl is different, comes from a different place, a different life, with different goals - and none of them do exactly the same quests....

If you've never tried alts, maybe that would help?

I log in daily, but I also don't force myself to do more than I want to do each day. Which, at a minimum, is a quick run through endeavors. (I've already done all zone based completions, all but the last 2 motif collections, all but DLC dungeons and trial set collections, all leads, etc. Pretty much everything but group achievements and the ridiculous ink grind achievement and about 5M more AP for Grand Overlord on my main.)

Mostly, this means that, my playtime peaks around events or new content releases. Unless I have a specific goal that I am trying to accomplish in game. And then, I play other games to take "breaks" from ESO. Still logging in daily, still completing things, but also spending more time on other games.

For example, during the last event, I spent the first week grinding boxes and making sure I got all my gold boxes I could each day, week two I was traveling for work but still managed to spend the last few days of the event getting what I needed from the event.

The last week and a half, 95% of my time has been spent playing the new Dragon Age. Still logged in today for roughly 20 minutes to complete the endeavors, and will probably not log back in today. But, new content for ESO tomorrow on console, so I will definitely be shifting to a 50/50 playtime while I am still enjoying Dragon Age.

I run into this a lot myself so I have started setting bi weekly goals for myself and then adjust based on active events and if there is anything in said event I need/want to farm for.

One overall goal is to finish the sticker book, so any DLC dungeon or the few regular dungeons that I have missing pieces for that comes up as an undaunted daily goes to the front of the list. (Helps with keeping a supply of keys as well.)

Another weekly item is completing the weekly endeavor for the seals. I fit this in with my current goal when possible.

One week I will farm up all my crafting surveys and treasure chests (Helps with storage issues)

Other times I will look for a random achievement or set of them that I will work on.

Some days I log in simply for the daily reward and keep an eye on guild chat for requests for help while watching TV. May run a few characters through writs these days as well depending on my mood.

If I am not feeling it for whatever reason I will just log in for the reward and close out and find something else to do. Occasionally that may be other games, but I am mostly a creature of habit lol.

Take a break from eso. Play something else. Get the cat quest trilogy from steam.

Take a break from tech outside of work, no scrolling, no watching, no playing. Read a book, do a cooking class, take up swimming at a local pool.

Dont want to break. Check the leaderboarder and play a class no one plays or play a roll no one plays.

I take a break and play other things.

ESO, like Minecraft, is one of those games where it's always there in some capacity. It's a staple. A break for me is mostly just reduced playtime, or logging in like once a week or something. I think October was the month where I logged in the least.

I’m slowly ending a long break, doing some zone completion on alts. Hard to say how long it’ll last, but I am least looking forward to the event house and Golden Pursuits.

Over my break, I played Hogwarts Legacy, which really hit the spot for me. I dabbled in Diablo, but the expansion didn’t really land for me. Minecraft is also a perennial favorite for me, especially when the weather gets cold.

I only play for a couple of hours a day (sometimes not even that) so I don't burn out. I try to vary what I do so I don't get bored. I wouldn't spend weeks on end doing the same arena or dungeon, or trying for the same lead.

Also, you said you've still got some exploration stuff to do. Someone suggested the sticker book. You might also want to help out other players. Just see who's asking for help in zone chat or the group finder. That way you'll never know what's in store for you when you log in. Might help to shake things up a bit.

Play different games. This isn't meant to be a job or living vicariously as a sprite. Don't force yourself to do chores, dailies, or crafting writs just because you feel obligated somehow. It's only just a game. If you're not being entertained, let it go for a while.

*shrug* I spend all my game time on one universe: TES, including ESO. I haven't had any interest in anything else that's come out in the last 10 years or so. TES is my "home universe" as it were.

Now that said, I don't spend ALL my time in games. I have a lot of other things I have to do - cooking, cleaning, shopping, laundry, taking care of 90 year old husband.... who can do very little for himself any more....

I think the big one is that I'm never playing just one game at a time, even with MMOs. So if I don't feel like playing ESO right now I've always got other options. Sometimes I will play just one for a few days, sometimes I've play 2 or 3 different games in one day, and I never try to schedule it or even think about it much, I just play whatever I feel like in the moment.

But I think it also helps that I have several different ESO characters who are always doing different things (and have different classes and builds so they play differently) which means even within ESO I've got several options. Again I don't plan it or try to ensure I play them all equally, I pick whichever I feel like playing at the time.

ESO is persistent, so if you're over 1500cp, you have all the gear you need, and there's no event happening that you want to farm, then you don't really lose out by taking a break. The time and energy you've sunk will not dimishish over time. And the muscle memory returns pretty quick, like riding a bike.

I take breaks, the longest was 2 years, the shortest 6 months. And I come back to the game (usually at the launch of a chapter) with loads of motivation to play, needing to learn new mechanics, farm new gear, and feeling pleased with my past progress. The only issue with taking a break is potentially getting kicked from guilds, but if you don't join any then you don't have to worry about that. Even if you miss an event, it will return in the future.

I'm also at that stage right now; I came back to eso with gold road launch, but I haven't played for nearly a week, and modded minecraft is looking pretty attractive to me. Every year or 2 I do the rounds of my favourite games, including ark, battlefield, gta online, minecraft, terraria, valheim, rimworld, banished, sometimes even skyrim. I might even go back and play FF9 or GT3 on my steam deck. I'll play one for a few months, until I get bored of that, and then move onto the next that takes my fancy.

I'll probably come back for high isle event because I missed the last one, and I want the event house and the red indrik. But even if I don't it's no big deal, I'll get them next time, and I probably won't use them anyway.

If you really don't want to drop eso then you could do what tandor suggested, and level up on the opposite server. Before witches festival I got my cp200 NA toon up to cp400, after not touching it for about 3 years, and it felt somewhat fresh and different. Feels kind of like smurfing.

I play several other games in addition to ESO, although none of the others are MMOs.

I stopped pushing myself in games, a change that ESO brought about when I finally stopped trying to do all of the quests as soon as possible and just settled into a comfortable daily routine. Now I play single-player CRPGs the same way-- no rush, go slow, take my time leveling up and getting better gear, etc.

As far as ESO, I haven't finished questing through High Isle on my primary server, so there's still a lot for me to do. And I'm still wrapping up Craglorn on my secondary server, so I've got a lot of questing to do there when I want. Then I've also got several alts on both servers who haven't even finished the Main Quest yet, let alone Cadwell's Silver and Gold.

Mostly I just love to wander around Tamriel and beyond, doing whatever strikes my fancy at the time. I've been more active in Cyrodiil during the last couple of years-- once I lost my fear of getting killed-- so I could definitely see myself spending more time with the Alliance War, although for now it's mostly just something I dabble in (and stink at, LOL). I also have a lot of DLC dungeons, trials, and arenas to do if I want to get more serious about end-game PvE content.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!
