Do you think ZOS will EVER let us hide the rest of the Outfit slots?

It's known that they've had Hide options for every Body Slot on their Dev Builds as early as Vvardenfell, over 7 years ago. Since then we had to wait years for Hide Shoulders (and only Shoulders) to finally be released to us as a special collectible. Since then there's been no word on any of the others, and it's been a couple years now.

Do you think they have a long term plan to very slowly release the rest, one by one to us as Collectibles, or do you think Hide Shoulders was a one time, "throwing us a bone" deal and we won't ever see the rest.

Dont know, but I would love to at least get a hide belt option. Everything else is fine and can be minimized to some degree.

If you play a female character you can hide your belt as long as you pick any of the medium orc belts. Doesn't work for male characters tho.

Edited to add: It would be nice if it did it for both.

I would definitely like to hide unnecessary crotch flaps. I could understand crotch flaps definitely needing to stay on like the Timbercrow costume, lawl, but on costumes such as the Dark Passions Regalia.. THAT one needs a toggle because it's hideous and ruins an otherwise beautiful costume. Likewise they ruin a lot of custom outfits by constantly clipping. Ugh. Especially with any sort of personality equipped.

Oh, and hip plates that float 10 feet away from your character's hips. Those need to be hidden as well. Yuck.

really really hope we get Hide settings for Loincloths and Tassets as well.

i doubt we would ever get Hide Chest and Hide Legs.
Probably likelier that we simply get more skimpy chest and leg styles instead.

I'm going to guess no for the obvious reason of monster and helm sets.

Helm being hidable is a common thing in games because people like to see their and other people's heads, but also not to have their heads caved in in combat.

In this game the monster and shoulder sets are commonly used and for my tastes at least, most of them aren't what I'd call attractive. Not bad. Suitably monstrous. But that's not an aesthetic I'm into.

Yes there's outfits and the 1 free costume slot but my guess is that there was still high demand to hide shoulders.

Other slots? Probably not so much.

Yes, but not all... something like chest armor and pants should never be hidden. But belt, gloves, feet, would be perfectly fine if they were hideable.

It's a costume that is only little more than the underwear.

If you want to run chest-free: There are a few styles that have a chest-free chest piece.

The rest? I don't think it is needed.

It is already enough to see the Talmor npcs running around with no trousers on sometimes... Don't need to see this ingame beyond buggy content.

On topic ( kinda ), I don't really understand answers like 'If you want ro run chest free, there are already some styles that have a chest-free chest', wich are especially fun when combined with 'chest should never be hidden !'.

So... chest should never be hidden yet they can be, and there should not be a hide chest option because there are already invisible chests. Bit confusing to me !

I'd say, make transmog options more simple, especially for something as simple as hiding pieces of vestments, especially when you can already make some ( limited ) workaround for that !

And for the 'not the chest !' argument... really I can't understand why. Like, really. I'd like to read some argument about it, because really it don't make much sense to me. The pants, sure, it might be a bit silly, personnaly I don't mind but hey, everyone's taste, but the chest, when there's already quite a lot of shirltess transmogs and npc ? Ok, that poor nord in Hew's Bane should certainly put a shirt on, or else is gonna look like some cooked crayfish, but aside from that...

The poll question seems to be framed about whether ZOS will eventually let players hide other outfit slots, not whether a player desires it or not.

So, although I would very like and am personally in favor of options to hide even more types of outfit slots, even going so far as opening up the option for hiding chestpiece, I don't think it will happen, because ZOS seems resistant to opening up the options to let it happen.

The devs probably already have the option to do so in the dev version of the game or toolkit, but maybe it's they're held up with some inertia to not change it, some developer vision of what should be in this aspect, or even cutting into outfit style or motif sales.

It feels like it could take about a year of development, and a side effect might be the occasional disappearance of the entire character model. So if this is done, it would likely be instead of a new chapter, and I don’t think ZOS would go for that.

I've been holding out hope for years that they would. We finally got shoulders a while back but that seems to be where it ends. Personally, it's one of the most important QoL features for me. More outfit control. But for some reason, they aren't interested. I don't believe for a second this would take more than 5 minutes of a developer's time. The structure is almost certainly already in place. Just flip a switch and the next slot is available. Clearly, there's some resistance somewhere to this.

I'm pretty sure hide belt could be a thing, for sure as it's not adding anything at all in current system. Other than that the gloves slot might be also an option, pretty sure torso and legs aren't going anywhere. Torso already is kinda of available via different styles half of which are crown exclusive so no wonder there's a monetary involvement.

I'm not sure if hide pants would be a thing. But I could see other slots.

Belt is already such a minor detail since it's just the buckle (Which really bothers me because it means it's not possible to dye the brown band around the waist...)

Gloves... Sure. Another fairly minor piece, that already has things like the prisoner cuffs which more or less act like unequipped.

Boots... Sure. Again, we already have things like sandals available. Also some NPC's do actually go around barefoot (For example, the Green Lady from the Kenarthi's Roost quests).

Chest... To be honest, I already see plenty of shirtless people around. With the whole fantasy regarding things like big strong Nord men running around shirtless (Also, Sai Sahan is shirtless)

Pants are the only thing that would be kind of odd. Though it might get added simply due to everything else being added and who cares about how much sense it makes when it earns $$$

They can do it, but I don't know why they're not implementing it. I know one of the reasons is that they don't want people running around naked even though you can already do that. ZOS's logic never makes any sense. At the very least, everything except pants should be hidable. There's no reason not to implement it for people who want to.

It's about balancing maintaining the aesthetic of the game, which leans towards more "tasteful" showing of skin. They want to balance player freedom with maintaining the overall aesthetic of the game IMO.

All of their skin showing outfits are rather tasteful.

most Chest styles have skinny forearms.

Light imperial 1, Drowned Marine, Grim Harlequin, and Prophet gloves are all little fingerless gloves that don't cover the sleeves.
and Prisoner is just chain bracelets.

But there are only some chest styles with long sleeves without skinny forearms like Snowhawk Mage, Grim Harlequin, Sapiarch, and Ayleid Lich.
