Will zenimax ever fix their lag problem?

Since Update 43 there has been terrible lag and consistent disconnects on the servers and it hasn't got any better. They just did maintenance this morning and still tons of lag. Seriously, will zos ever do anything about this lag and disconnects?
Maybe if enough of us talk about it, they might actually do something. It's been months now and nothing has improved. All they have done was add more redundant junk to the game.

It's been a decade of steadily declining performance, apart from the brief 6 month reprieve post hardware update.

Based on the lack of urgency or anything of substance being provided aside from the occasional response from @ZOS_Kevin that they are "looking into it" I'd say no... do not expect anything anytime soon.

nope, its been about 6 months since it got worse and they have yet to say anything that isnt "we are working on it"

I don't even think they have said they are "working on it".. I think we are still in the "looking into it" phase.

I see no reason to believe they wouldn't want to improve their server performance.

While I agree they are likely working on improving server performance I think more transparency and more frequent updates would go a long way to show that they are actively working on the issue, and perhaps outline what avenues have already been investigated found to not be the issue and why. Just my 2 septums on the issue.

my theory is this is why they nerfed azure blight. it seems in trials someone who weaves feels more lag than an arcanist who just beams. i notice this on groups of mobs and i know the arcs run azure.

I am hopeful, but my confidence is low, based on past precedents.

It must be a nightmare to decode this game. The devs have their work cut out for them. I wish them luck.

If it involves more money and effort they are willing to give at this point (and if they are happy with their revenue) then they might not want to. They certainly seem less committed to the game, since content has been halved and quality has been dropping. If players want them to finally sit up and notice (because 70 pages in one topic is apparently not enough) they need to vote with their wallets.

Lag isn't a universal issue...while some of it's very legitimate....

some of it is also folks using WiFi on a 726 frame line or they are still rocking a Monster 3D ("Look I spent three Hundred Dollars for my M3D in 1998...it should still work fine!!) Video card...or it's something easy like refusing to update your drivers...I went to a friends house last week who was complaining about lag...and his drivers other than graphics had not been updated since 2017....

Magickly his lag went away...
