I wonder what OP enjoys. Let's disable that instead. Scribing is awesome, aside from the stupid grind.

Scribing just introduces more imbalance and lag into PvP. Plus, if you don't buy the chapter, which is lackluster according to most posters, you don't have access to the new "skills".

Most posters? Some posters yes, but most players are too busy playing the chapter incl scribing to bother with posting on the forum  !

I post when I'm at lunch at work. I like trials and PvP. And my hope was to keep the pay to win aspect out of PvP....but I think that ship has sailed already sadly.

I'd be happy if they disabled scribing entirely. Awful questline for a botched system.

Dear ZoS: please ban the following from PvP zones: Psijjic skill line, all Mythics, Warden, Necromancer and Arcanist, Imperials, and all gear sets found in DLC zones and dungeons. We wouldn't want any P2W.

    Thank you.

I love the scribing questline! It was my favorite so far for years. I just wish ink was easier to come by so I could craft skills more. I haven't heard of any issues in PvP yet, but I think a lot of people are still unlocking it. I'm sure ball groups will find a way to benefit from it, the same way they already do with sets and skills from the basegame : P

I'm already planning some builds that could maybe give up a skill slot for some extra major/minor buffs.

The irony here is that basically since inception ZOS has put the new gear and mythics and other stuff in their latest chapters. So those who don't buy the chapter at full price don't have access to the latest greatest whatever. Then by the time the chapter goes on sale, they nerf all the latest greatest items.

So what's going to be the incentive to buy Gold Road by the time it goes on sale when the scribing "skills" have been nerfed to uselessness? According to many posts on this forum the Gold Road quest line can easily be completed in a few hours and the zone is abnormally small.

I'm pretty sure the person you're quoting is talking about posts made on the forum. You seem to be talking about players who aren't posting on the forum. So, ya, most people posting about about the new chapter are, in fact, saying that the new chapter is "meh"; that it's short with meager content and that scribing is just a grinding exercise.

Most people who are unhappy with things about ESO don't bother posting on the forum anymore because they learned a long time ago that they'll just be ignored, edited, or criticized for it (or worse). It leaves forum users with a highly skewed impression as to what's going on with the game. So to see so many negative posts about the new chapter is, in fact, pretty relevant.

Putting the obvious $40 pay to win in PvP aside, I see more tank and ballgroup meta....which...I feel like we've had enough of in PvP.

Welcome to a live service game, pal. Every MMO has yearly updates. It's not pay to win. Every single MMO and live service game would be pay to win with this mentality.

For PvP, it's absolutely p2w. I get it in pve though...I can "win" faster with the archanist then others, but eh..I "win" either way with any toon....never considered the pve stuff p2w.

so antiquities and mythics (which is tied to western skyrim, and several other chapters if you want to dig up all the leads) is not considered pay to win for pvp? lol

or how about any of the classes that are paid for?

and all the content that has gear tied to it (group dungeon dlc, chapter dlc, etc)

I'm pretty sure the issue isn't the P2W part, which is very obvious for all of the above mentioned. The issue is that scribing skills are waay too overloaded. One skill allows you to free up to 3 bar slots becuase you can tailor the skill to do the amount of 3 skills, and then some.

Look at Fiery Contingency, for example: You can cast a proc damage (fire is most popular) at the same tool-tip as a 5 pc set (Way of Fire), plus add an 8% damage reduction, plus another 5% damage reduction. You are getting no drawbacks to have a multi-skill/set condition proc all on one slot.

    It's way too over-tuned.

That would be doing you a favor though because it seems like everyone is enjoying it tremendously.

Disabling such a wonderful feature of the game in one area just to please a vocal few seems like a poor decision.

Not all scribing skills are broken in PvP. It is just some combos that lead to insanely broken things happening. Personally I think that all of the push-pull effects should either not ever been added to "customizable" scribing skills or at the very least those effects should not be available in PvP.

I agree with the OP. Scribing has introduced yet more unchecked power creep to ESO, with a new layer of ridiculously over-stacked abilities. E.g the warden stun which snares for 70% and charms and is also an AOE (oh, and it can also return mag and stam), or damaging skills/bust heals that also return resources.

It's added to the cheese soup that is PVP and has spawned some truly obnoxious builds.

Unfortunately, people will blindly defend it because they are the one's who use such builds to over indulge in the power creep.

Making a game fun should be a priority. Making a game balanced should not come at the expense of fun.
