Can't login, need access code but email is never sent

Was offline for a month or so and wanted to come back to play the game.
Been trying to login for a couple of days now, but no luck. I get the "ACCESS CODE" window, but no email has arrived.

I've already gone through the standard support procedure. I can login and update my data on the elderscrollsonline.com web site, I get all the emails (eg request email change...), even the game advertisements come regularly every couple of days. Problem is only with the game. I cannot go past the "ACCESS CODE" screen. No firewall or anything like that. I also did not change anything since the last time the game ran normally. Same PC, same system, same ISP ... nothing changed, only a couple of game updates installed when I launched it.

    if you shut game and launcher down and restart you should be ok to login then. its a bug i have had it and you just restart everything and try again and should be ok then

    Typically if you get the access code thing but no email, it means you’re entering your password incorrectly.

    As I've said, I've been trying for a couple of days now. I've restarted multiple times and re-checked my password too ofc.

    As I've stated, I've done that too.
    Did all tasks that are suggested in the "WHAT DO I DO IF I'M NOT GETTING THE ACCESS CODE EMAILS?" section of the support site.

    The last one is:
    If you still haven't received your access code email after trying the steps above, you should contact customer support using the account recovery page. After making your selections and reaching the form, let us know that you are having issues with your one-time access code in the "Tell us more about your issue" section of the form.

    When I click on the recovery page" link, I get an empty page with only this:
    {"platform":{"code":5000,"message":"Missing cookie: bnet-session"}}

    Tested on multiple browsers.

    Experiencing the same issue. Started happening today after maintenance.
    I can log into the website and manage my subscription no problem. but typing in same userid and password, I get prompted for accesscode, but it never gets delivered to my email address that is stated on my account.

    Logging in to my linked account with single sign on, works. but using userid/password no longer works as of today.

    I redownloaded/reinstalled the whole game overnight, and it worked. Maybe some update bugged install?
    Anyway I can login and play normally now.
