No pillars spawning = waste of 2 hours.

Edit: Was solo. Think that matters. I've seen this boss work in a duo and the pillars worked correctly.

    the vast majority of the time ive had this boss work fine

    ive only had it bug once where the pillars despawned before the explosion, but i had so much health that the explosion didnt 1 shot me (the explosion does about 38.8k dmg on arc 8)

    2 out of the 3 times I have had this bug but on the third run I decided to stay away from the pillar until I seen the boss channeling then hide behind the pillar. Maybe that`s the fix maybe not but that one time worked, I haven`t had the boss since and I have ran EA several times.

    Other than that pillars spawn in odd locations like at the edge of the platform. I do not think that is supposed to work like that.

    I haven't had an issue with him, but I also have only gotten him solo and I'm low DPS since I run a tank.

    I wonder if the people who are getting this to bug out are high DPS players that end up pushing him to the blast before he has time to summon the pillars. I know Lord Warden used to have that problem in ICP as well where if he were burned too quickly, he might go into Darklight without spawning either or both portals.

    If so, they might need to add a check to that mechanic to make the pillars spawn when he goes into that phase, but I bet the band-aid fix is "DPS slower."

    the mechanic is time based, on a high dps setup usually can burn him almost before the first curse phase

    It does not matter. I've run into the pillars-not-spawning bug on a duo run.

    I've run into this issue too. I know his mechanics but the pillars despawn before he uses his ability :/

    I don't understand why bugged bosses that cause people to lose their entire run can;t be removed from the rotation list until the bug is identified and fixed.

    OK thanks. I will do that. I forgot it's not auto wipe. I can burn him in Arc 1 before the mechanic, but Arc 3, I'll be sure to have 39K health.

    'Not going near pillars until one has to' has been working for our duo also.

    The other thing we started doing was not stepping off the purge pad too quickly, as the eye-thing we purged seems to lurk around post-purge.

    We had the pillar issue the very first time we did EA, before the first patch, but not since.

    We've also had fun endlessly falling through portals into new portals into new portals due to platform config, but that's fun.

    I've hidden behind the pillar and fought him from there way before he did the mechanic and didn't wipe that time, so I think this is also a coincidence that sometimes works and sometimes it doesn't. But we shouldn't be playing guessing games with a temperamental fight and it should definitely be fixed, as it can easily become a run breaker.

    The pillars disappearing is a bug?(sarcasm) I have fought him a dozen times or more and he does that crap every single time. It end the run entirely unless I am with a friend who is tanking because as a dps you cannot survive the explosion. They have to res me to finish the fight and all the while he's spawning in constant senches so it's a race against time. I have also had the pillars themselves spawn halfway off the arena so you can't actually get behind them even if they didn't disappear.

    Actually I take it back, one time the I DID get behind the pillar and it didn't despawn before explosion, but it also didn't do anything to protect me and I still died. Any boss will unavoidable damage which will instantly kill you is messed up. Laatvulon also does this where he will just pop in and instantly kill you on his flight phase because there is no indicator as to where he is going to be or spawn in at and the breath weapon kills you instantly. I have been just trying to avoid it and kill the adds and be near the edge and he just spawned on me instantly killing me without me getting a picosecond to react even if I could have seen him.

    It’s aggravating! I’ve had the pilar crumble early, the blast go through the pillar to kill me anyway, and the blast do apparently nothing at all to my character — all last night, incidentally, so at least it only cost me two threads. :/

    Solo and duo I've run into these problems just about every time I've encountered this boss -- no pillars, pillar on the edge where one can't get behind it, pillar crumbling.

    I agree...too many bugs...get rid of this boss, please.

    The boss is still in the rotation and it's still broken and it's still a run killer.

    How hard can it be to take one really broken boss out of the rotation?

    Today..got behind a pillar very close to the edge and died because the explosion knocked me off the edge. Otherwise I would have survived.

    I got this boss just the other day and the pillars did not break early or knock me back when I was behind them, and it went through that phase three times. The first time the boss seemed to be stuck in presummoning mode, so I came out from behind the pillar and he resumed, I went back behind the pillar, and all was well. If it matters, I hold block when I’m anticipating the blast, just in case, but the pillar seemed to do it’s job just fine.
