Investigate Alavelis quest not completing

The quest to Investigate Alavelis in the Telvanni Peninsula is not completing for one of my characters even though I have done all the tasks with quest markers in the area. The small green quest circle where I first entered Alavelis by portal is still there but there is nothing to interact with in that circle. I have tried logging the character out and back in, transporting again from the portal in Necrom, searching the entire Alavelis area multiple times, and quitting and restarting ESO; but the quest circle is still there and the quest is not completed. I am reluctant to drop the quest and do it again since it is bundled with 2 other investigation tasks I already completed.

I also am having the same issue. i am there with Scruut. While the quest marker shows a passageway, there is none to be found.

Sorry for double posting, but I found the solution: there is a bug with the quest markers. The active one indicates an invisible passage (nothing to enter), but it's just because it's not the right timing to have it active.

Instead, if you check on map, out of the zone shown upon arriving, there are other quest markers: those appear as not applicable (they're with the inactive/disabled color). It's wrong. In fact, those are valid for the quest! As a matter of fact, they identify the locations where we have something to do to get the quest progressing.

I don't tell more to avoid spoilers but as a summary, simply visit all places having a quest marker, no matter its color.

Side note: take care! For me, this trouble with quest markers kept going for the entire part of the quest related to Alavelis! No matter where I was, quest marker was always showing me I should exit the place and go to the empty location, whereas the quest markers in the place indicating the actions I had to complete, were in color of being wrong there. I thought that maybe I could have a sub-quest to main quest I have not noticed, that would cause this situation, but no. I had no other quest than the main one.
