In the end most ppl are selfish, and if they want to speed run for transmutes, that's what's gonna happen.

What its lacking is something like wow has.. A solo trial sort of thing for each spec to prove your worthyness for veteran content.. They should have something like this character specific. You must prove via this test or trial you can perform at veteran levels to even be able to queue for it in that spec.

Wanting a healer does not make you a bad tank. I want people to want to feel needed as a healer and want to play that because they are harder to get than tanks. Try bringing 3 DPS into some of those hard Vet DLC dungeons and you won't get far.

To coincide with this, they need to make random veterans much more enticing so higher level players would prefer to run those and leave the normals to new players, less experienced players and people under level 50

I always thought they should make veteran dungeons give significantly more experience. That would be one way.

    __________________________Backstories:_________________________

Ras Kalik the Vestige, a renown Redguard warrior; He has been blessed to save Tamriel from Molag Bal’s destructive Planemeld while reuniting the Five Companions. His further accomplishments after defeating Molag Bal, has been to stop the destruction of Morrowind, the Clockwork City, return order to the isle of Summerset and create a new king in Wrothgar and a queen in Elsywer. These events have made him a living legend and continue to lead him into new adventures throughout Tamriel, as well as into the hearts of many ladies including the Elf Queen, Aryenn. Over many years of adventurous travels, Ras Kalik had become a loner, until he re-visited his homeland of Alik'r.

Alik'r and it's cities were overrun by the undead Ra-Netu and therefore he made an allegiance with Alik'r's own Ash'abah tribe. These Ash'abah with his help, cleansed the city of Sentinel in Alik'r desert and it's surrounding areas of the undead brought to life by the Withered Hand. After rescuing Sentinel from the undead zombies, King Fahara’jad’s personal bodyguard the Goliath of Hammerfell, who was given this name by Imperials in the region; was asked to assist the tribe after learning of the defeat of the Withered Hand to the Ash'abah. Kalik promised Goliath he would task him with fighting living enemies on the battlefield if he so desired. Goliath being a Yokudan warrior wields a massive sword in respect to the Ansei, a gift given by the Imperial, Cinan Tharn. Not many soldiers are able to wield double two handed weapons, but Goliath loves to get up and personal in a fight, so he also carries a giant maul, both weapons laced with magical flames.

Jux Blackheart is a master thief that masquerades as a Bard at the Sisters of the Sands inn, with his younger sidekick Lucky Hunch for pilfering and gambling during this time. Jux was known to infiltrate any towns bank vault he came across and even delved into Ayelid ruins without detection. Kalik can vividly recall the night he met the famed thief. Jux found himself rummaging thru a slightly inebriated Kalik’s pocket for too long, on a full-mooned night and because of his greed and the glimmer of his golden armor in the moonlight. He lost his left pinky fingertip as a lesson! But in return, he gained a new friend, as it was his first time since a child being caught red-handed...

Upon arrival back in the Alik'r after many moons of adventuring, Ras Kalik ventures to Bergama. Visiting The Winking Jackal, he runs into Jux Blackheart, who introduces him to the coin game Crowns vs Forebearers (Heads vs Tails) and Golden Dwemer (RBG).... Jux constantly takes gold from the unfortunate thru theft or gambling, his biggest gambling victim is actually his partner in crime known as Lucky Hunch the Gambler. Lucky doesn't mind losing any gold coins to Jux... as Jux saved him from Altmer slavers in Summerset, by stealing a key and sending him on a boat to the mainland years prior. Lucky spent years in slavery with Khajiits in Summerset and picked up the art of subterfuge, using illusion magic disguises and stealing there.

Kaotik Von’Daemon an outcast, and a half-caste between a Breton mother and a Redguard father. Kaotik become a pariah due to his conjuration of Daedra pets. He was taught healing magic during his childhood years by his Breton mother. His father due to Redguard customs exiled him from the desert, sending him by wagon caravan to be a soldier in the war in Cyrodiil. He happened to meet Kalik while traveling from Alik'r, during this long caravan ride the caravan he was in was ambushed in Bangkorai by a group of bandits. Kalik by chance was also traveling thru this area on his Auridon Warhorse (which was bestowed to him by his friend, Darien Gautier). During this ambush, Kalik was able to rescue five hostages from the bandits. Kaotik was the first rescued, and Ras Kalik also recruited him to be in the Ash'abah tribe. These core Ash'abah tribesmen may never be seen together in travel as they partake in their own adventures but they always know what each other is doing; as they frequent a hideout in northern Bankorai. Their hideout an old Orc castle ruin, is kept watch by Nuzhimeh and she passes messages written between them, and frequently they also enjoy her company and her bed.

The other men rescued were a Dunmer banker, an Imperial mercenary and two other soldiers, an Imperial and a Breton Knight, stating proudly he was an Akavir descendent. One of the Imperials, Cinan, claimed to be related to Abnur Tharn the Battlemage of the Imperial Elder Council (One of Ras Kalik's mentors in the Five Companions). Cinan Tharn was really Abnur's drunkard treasure hunting illegitimate son. He was caught smuggling artifacts out of the Ayleid ruins in Cyrodiil and the elder of the two Imperials was Tyrus Septim a retired Imperial navy battle-mage (now a Lycan mercenary living in the city of Rimmen) and guard to the Tharn family. As much as Abnur Tharn hated his half-sister Euraxia, he dislikes his bas†ard son Cinan more. Tyrus now a ruffian and privateer had been paid by Abnur Tharn to watch over Cinan as much as possible. Cinan Tharn a drunkard, loves to drink at least a quarter barrel of Nord mead before he raids various delves and dungeons for relics to sell on the black market. Cinan also plans to one day, run an illegal gambling ring... which he thinks will net him more gold for his wares.

The Dunmer captive shackled to the Imperials looked familiar to Kalik from his time in Morrowind.... and he recognized him as Tythis Andromo a House Telvanni slave-owner and banker from Vvardenfell. During a rough interrogation to Tythis, Ras Kalik learnt why the bandits accosted him. The racist Dunmer was providing slaves as soldiers for the Three Banner War. The bandits were trying to negotiate a lucrative ransom for Andromo and the Imperials.... Kalik did not need any of this gold and he could never set Tythis free as he did with the two Imperial soldiers. His past involvement with slavery and war crimes, made Kalik's blood boil. He chose not to execute Tythis, as he figured the worse punishment for this former rich and opulent slave owner, is to now be an imprisoned servant for Ras Kalik and the tribe.

Herzog Zwei the Genesis a reknown Imperial/Akavirri battle-mage. His roots going back to Akavir through his mother’s bloodline. (His mother is descended from the Akaviri, through Versidue-Shae, and his Imperial father met her in Hakoshae, while traveling) Herzog earned the nickname "the Genesis" from his father as a child, as he was his mother's first born child, and last, as she tragically died in child-birth.

Herzog was seeking to purchase an artifact from Cinan Tharn, before their capture and was meeting Tyrus while in Rimmen, who introduced him to Cinan. This artifact being the Ayelid artifact; the sword Sinweaver. After their rescue and the exchange of gold to Cinan for the sword he decided to slip away before Ras Kalik could question who he was, and why the Akavir descendant really wanted that sword. Herzog was headed to Nagastani — An Ayleid ruin in eastern Cyrodiil. He had read in scrolls that the Sword would give him magical powers to meet his mothers spirit, if he performed an Ayleid ritual at an old shrine hidden there. Equipped with the artifact sword, he was off to start his own adventure but Ras Kalik, did indeed notice the sword however and instead sent a letter to Jux Blackheart (whom also was interested in Ayleid treasures), to attempt to find Herzog and acquire the sword. (*Azani Blackheart in Elder Scroll's Oblivion is Jux's descendant some 747 years later)

And so the Redguard, Imperial and Akaviri men parted ways ... While Ras Kalik went off to Elsweyr to encounter the latest threat to Tamriel, with Abnur Tharn and Sai Sahan - - DRAGONS!! Little did Ras Kalik know a few people were awaiting him in Senchal besides Sai. A necromancer survived his attack on the Withered Hand, while in Alik'r. The necromancer known as Auriek Siet'ka is also following him to the land of the Khajiits and Cacique the Sage of Ius a Shaman mystic who has become attuned spiritually with Tu'whacca (a Redguard God) and Ius (the Animal God), after being burned severely by the escaped dragons in Elsywer, is awaiting his arrival also. Aurik is a soldier of the Daggerfall Covenant that was introduced to necromancy while in the military, even though this magicka art is not spoken of openly by most of the Military leaders. He came to Alik'r and worked with the Withered Hand before Ras Kalik intervened on their plans. After the defeat of the Withered Hand, he aligned with the Worm Cult, and is constantly adapting and perfecting his necromantic arts.

After his journey to Rimmen, Kalik heads south to Senchal, in the southern regions of Elyswer. This new adventure will also put him on a path to meet a strange Redguard man. The stranger which was infected with an untreated Peyrite disease and also was the exiled from the Order of the New Moon cult, due to his sickness. He originally joined the cult to worship Laatvulon, the green dragon, mistakenly thinking it was the Daedric prince Peyrite. This confused and suffering cultist is known as Tsar al-Bomba and he is on a path to spread the disease. He was originally infected in Orccrest while recruiting members there. Can Ras Kalik and the shaman Cacique cure this poor soul, only time will tell. Little does Tsar al-Bomba know, that his infection is tied to Vampirism, and eventually the desire for blood will take over his mind. Senchal also offers Kalik his latest love interest... Aeliah. Whom he fondly led thru battles with the Dragonguard.

After the trek thru the heat, tropical and desert climate of Northern and Southern Elyswer, Ras Kalik heads north to the cold mountain range of Skyrim. His companion friend Lyris beckons for him with a letter sent by crow...

Movárth Piquine - a former vampire hunter (now infected), within the Fighter's Guild (and a secretive necromancer) was in Skyrim working with the Morthaal Guard. On a patrol mission he was caught in Frewien's ice curse outside of Morthaal with the frozen undead. Movárth's vampiric infection kept him from becoming an undead minion to the curse. He was able to use necromantic ice-magic to encase himself safely until he was freed with Freiwen, when the Vestige Ras Kalik broke the curse.

Uri Ice-Heart - brother of Urfon Ice-Heart. The twin sons of Atli and Oljourn Ice-Heart. The Ice-Heart family are originally from Markarth but now reside on the Jerall Mountain range near Cyrodiil, with their younger sister Araki. The twins had joined the Winterborn Reachmen while living in Markarth. Urfon pushed west to Orsinium with the Winterborn Clan, leaving his family behind. Uri stayed behind with his parents and sister to live in the family cabin for safety, avoiding the Vampire plague infiltrating the Reach. After news reaches him and he hears of Urfon's death... Uri leaves and heads home and is seeking vengeance. Meanwhile, his sister has also moved on to Windhelm to join the Fighter's guild. He will visit his sister, once before going to seek vengeance and she will craft him armor mixed with ice, called Stalhrim armor. Uri fearing death, after his brother's passing, falls victim to the convincing talk of Movárth at a Nordic tavern, and will also becomes a vampire.

Just remove roles from normal dungeons. I know this may seem controversial but the real problem is that people rely on tanks and healers in the first place. It may start out as a *** show but that will change when the player base start to adapt, slot heals, shields and generally make build adjustments to get through the dungeons.

If I ever get around to doing daily rnds, then I tend to "fake tank" because I don't have all day to sit around and wait for the queue to work. However I do maintain the courtesy of at least slotting a taunt and some sort of debuff and hold the boss for the group.

Because I mostly play pvp, I am also used to having higher health and more sustain than most pure pve dd, so that helps a lot with tanking as well.

Funny when I get fake dd in the group though and I end up essentially having to solo the dungeon (which I do just fine) while they all just spam light attacks or constantly stand in the giant red danger circles and get one shot. The amount of times that's happened,

I can do a normal dungeon solo on my pvp build...I can do it faster with more people. So I play the role as Tank, we kill everything, get through the dungeon. Done. Whilst not a tradition Sword and board tank, and doing almost as much dps as the other players, the role of tank was fulfilled and the dungeon was completed.

Race has very little to do with anything outside of serious end game. Up to that point, you can roleplay whatever you want.

Outside of race (which for healer is generally viewed as altmer being best), the weapon choice is also somewhat subjective. Naturally, one would expect a restoration staff. But you have two bars. Why wouldn't you use an inferno staff in dungeon content? What would you suggest healers use?

I don't disagree that fake roles offer a negative experience for newer players, especially when that newer player ends up face-tanking a boss when a tank should have aggro, but you're arguing the wrong things. Racial choices have generally little to do with capabilities, and weapon choices are going through changes now that we have hybridisation. I've seen a couple healers running bow or two-hander with a restoration staff, just because they can get a little more DPS from it (and why not, as long as they're not actively letting people die).

I haven't rebuilt my characters (nor run many dungeons) for quite a few patches. But I'm doing it now. My current plan is try templar healing without a resto staff. That's probably the only class I'd do it on, although I'm sure plenty of other people could do it well on wardens.

With that being said, most tanks and healers are usually people that have experience with the game. Factoring in people don’t always want to make more then one character since they have to level all the skill lines, mount speed, redo all quests, ect, or are just satisfied with there first character the game will always lack tanks and healers.

With the Armory system this is no longer a factor since one toon can have all of the roles needed. I'm a healer main but have solo/DPS/Healer/tank/PVP builds on my main in addition to 6 other healer toons.

I see fake DD way more often than fake support, in both proportion and total

I mean...that's risk you run in PUG rnds. You cant really complain about the caliber of players in areas that have the highest amount of new/casual players, who have little to no knowledge about builds, mechanics, and combat. Or if DDs are focused more on survivability than damage, it's because they've probably had bad experiences with fake supports. It's a vicious cycle really.

Either way, claiming that players are fake in all roles furthers the argument that fake queuing is an issue. We can't excuse bad etiquette in normals and then wonder why it bleeds into vet content.

Fake role queue is an issue, i am not disputing it.

I am pointing out the selective bias on calling people out.

Only going after the less prevalent problem (fake support) and ignoring the more prevalent problem (fake DD) is ridiculous.

I really don't think fake DDs are a issue. At least I'm never really seem any. There are newer players or less skilled players that deal less damage but at the end of the day unless a DD is trying to heal or tank or literally doung no damage then they aren't a fake DD. Just not a good DD yet.

Nice try but no. All taunts in this game do damage, if anyone who do any damage is a real DD, then all tanks are DD.

I think you know 'tank is a subset of DD' is ridiculous.

A human player indifferent to a companion (or worse) is definitely a fake.

Did you read what I said? I said if a DD was taunting or trying to heal then they were a fake DD. I never said they were a true DD. I never ever said that I think tank is there for damage.

And what exactly is a fake DD to you? Please explain what that is in detail because I'm very curious.

If you expect the tank there to taunt, all taunt do damage, you then implicitly expect tank to do damage.

To have a somewhat fair distribution of responsibility the DD should be outputting at least triple of the tank.

Absolutely not you're judging normal dungeon content by vet standards instead of the new/low level player standard. If you think having a fake tank who doesn't even attempt to hold aggro allowing the boss to focus everyone is frustrating imagine if you get all new level 20 DDs with no healer/tank, or 4 healers or 2 tanks/2healer - it'll be chaos and a wipe fest or a slog and won't teach people what roles do and what "right looks like" and will probably dissuade new players form getting involved with dungeons long term due to a series of bad experiences. The holy trinity of roles in dungeons and raiding is a thing for a reason and the content itself is designed around that comp. Any role-less dungeon would have to be as easy as overland for new players to complete it but that would in fact sabotage new players getting better for harder content down the road.

I’m lenient on fake healers and tanks until it comes to vet DLC dungeons. I’ll tolerate a fake healer if they are actually doing enough damage to compensate for the role of the missing healer (depends on the dungeon). If you are a fake tank in a vet DLC dungeon then you are getting the instant kick, this includes if they are a 40k hp meatsack who doesn’t use a taunt.

Raid Bosses as a thing are silly to me anyway you follow a pre scripted cookie cutter pattern to defeat a Boss and pat yourself on the back for following directions..

Raids would be much more fun if End game bosses were more Dynamic...but as far as the whole fake tank fake healer not once have I hear anyone actually complain about it in game except for one guy goofing everyone at a Dolmen by yelling "Fake Tank!"

Try bringing 3 DPS into some of those hard Vet DLC dungeons and you won't get far.

We actually did a bunch of vDLC achievs (no-death, speedrun, hm) with 3 dds and 1 tank. It's much easier and faster, if dds know how to play. Otherwise yeah, would prefer a healer.
Although I think that healer is more needed to dds, rather than the tank. Because as a tank you survive nearly everything by yourself.

vBC2 is kinda funny, really. When you go solo for final boss - you always complete it with hm. Although I don't like the mech that takes you up, because I find it very random and sometimes buggy. The fight itself isn't so hard (esp with master 2h, which boosts damage there by a lot), I only die there when I get bugged (the boss sends me above the roof lol).

I told them I would take care of a lot of the buffing and all the healing so they could remove those skills from their rotation and concentrate fully on DPS. After we finished he admitted the run went smoother with me healing than it does when they have three DPS.
These were very good players. The experience could be that dungeon only. Maybe others actually are faster and smoother with three DPS? For most players though in vet content a healer is going to make things easier.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

With how badly healing was nerfed in the latest content update, real healers are not happy and cannot easily overcome some of the heal checks anymore.

I am not sure why they are focus'd so much on PVP changes that ruin PVE, but they really need to better separate those systems if they ever want to please both types of players.

It is very ridiculous and something that I do not agree with while in random/pug groups. It's fine if their pre-made group agrees with it, but it's not fine if others are expecting them to play the role that they signed up for.

It doesn't matter to me whether if it's normal or veteran -- they're not being a team player while in group content, it's annoying dealing with them, and it's also unfair to those who wait for their turn and put in the effort to play their role.

Fakers are just too lazy to properly play the role that they signed up for, they are too selfish to care, and they are completely inconsiderate of other people. And the only thing that they're doing in normal dungeons is teaching bad habits that carry over into veteran dungeons.

Also, increasing the rewards for veteran dungeons is unfortunately a bad idea. Because then everyone including the fakers will come there, even if they're not ready for the difficulty, expecting to get carried for the increased rewards. And that's a whole other problem -- people in veteran that are not yet ready for it...

And to make it worse there's the "find replacement" bug that has been around for about 4 months which means that if you kick someone you're going to have to complete it with 3.

My main PvE healer is a Templar 2H front bar, resto back bar... he does fine Vet Dungeons, never had a complaint. Nothing fake about the work he putting in.

The maybe not so visible(unless your experienced) issue with a build like that is simply.. which one which one are you built for? You cant be geared/statted well for both 2h and resto so one is gonna suck and since 2h is your front bar its likly yur backbar not upto par.. after u35 your gonna notice the effects of that.

It is interesting how I never see a fake tank anymore.

IMO the seperation is whats causing the confusion for them internally.. They need to make a standard and stick to it! build for that.. Not this craap we have no with somethings working here and some things working there and something only partially work here and then we need to add debuffs to pvp to downtune everyone cuz theyre too OP in pve etc etc..
