@ZOS_BillEJust in case you missed it: the fact that disabling the video graphics multi-threading feature restores the ability of the game client to take a screenshot, and to store the screenshot in the default location, quite clearly signifies an implementation error in the video graphics multi-threading option. On the face of it, there is no reason for the option to interfere with taking and/or storing screenshots with the game client, which has been a feature of TESO since the beginning, but it does.
(1) As it currently stands, a player who
does want to use the multi-threading option, and enables it, quite likely will not be able to take screenshots
via the game client. There are other means to take and store screenshots, of course. However, they are not nearly as convenient as just pressing a key to use that feature in the game client.
(2) FYI: my current computer runs 64-bit Windows 7 Professional SP1 fully updated. IIRC, there is at least one report that the issue has occurred on a Windows 10 system and
(?) on a Windows 11 system, too. (Most players who reported the issue in the forums did not disclose the operating system of the computer on which they play TESO.)
(3) For what it is worth, I have never been able to take screenshots with the < Prt Scr > key on the keyboard while playing TESO. Using the key produces nothing. However, while the video graphics multi-threading option was enabled, I discovered that I could use that key to make and store a screenshot on the Windows Clipboard. Then I could open
MS Paint, paste to its workspace, and save it to a file. Go figure.
Thank-you for your time and attention to this issue. We appreciate it.
