I've been watching Eveli tossing bottles around in Blackwood again. I wonder if we might be given something similar as a player skill next year. An extension of Alchemy that can be used to create ground-based effects in combat. A bit like spell crafting, but stam toons can use it too.

    Just a guess.

Slottable potions should have been the answer to Warrior self-healing, instead of "green magic", but I digressed.

More skill lines would very much be welcome, whether those be Potions, Spell-Crafting, Non-Weapon Dependent Schools of Magic, etc.*

*Provided the decreasing performance can also be reversed. What's the point of new skills if they won't fire.

    Calling it now:

Next year's chapter is going to take place in a zone.

It will have vegetation, critters and textures, and also hopefully additional cute creatures to pet.
I simp for vampire lords and Glemyos Wildhorn

Cyrodil is just sitting there waiting for a PVE revamp. They could end the Three banners war and convert all of that wasted space into a awesome PVE expansion.

Oh, I wish!! And I'm not saying that in a "hating PVP players/zones" way because they deserve new content as well, but it's really disappointing that the Three Banners War has not advanced in any way or form since 2014. OG/PVP Cyrodiil is fun to some extent but nothing ever progresses in the end and it gets old eventually.

Don’t see why we can’t have both at the same time. Adding a PVE chapter wouldn’t effect the pvp map at all, you don’t access pvp via the map any away, so it’s already split off..

Tharn wanted to end the banner war, maybe him in spirt form with all that dragon juice, tried to rewrite something back in time and book a bend or break in time where the banner war is locked/diverted in its own time line :)

Opening up for a pve chapter around central cyro and IC….I’ve been wanting to get onto that central isle for years!!!

Locking the war in a time loop would explain why it restarts so often and hasn't progressed plus why it's not mentioned in the future. Cool idea!

I know it's been mentioned already, but I'd like to see the Shivering Isles, as a proper zone, not just a brief visit during a quest or two.

And I hope we don't ever have to mess with it again. It wasn't fun the first time, and it would be a piece of content I wouldn't pay for or access. The sooner Sheo goes away, and takes his demented islands with him the happier I will be.

They said we’re going to a place no one expects, where is somewhere no one truly expects? Somewhere that already exists.

They have made it clear that nothing can fix lag in Cyro, so it only makes sense to rework the zone. I bet the unexpected place we are going is a reworked, non PvP version of Cyro, hopefully with a PvP emphasis like instanced arenas or maybe an instanced dueling pit in arena district ;)

I don't see what going to Shivering Isles in ESO time would do? TES4 works because it's set during a Greymarch. Hypothetically if it was going to be a Shivering Isles zone, it's going to be a re-hash of the TES4 plot (previously unknown Greymarch thwarted by the Vestige) which would not really make sense as the Vestige would have to mantle Sheogorath (the fate of the Champion of Cyrodiil). So what would happen for further DLC? Everyone 'becomes' Sheogorath?

IMO ESO really shines when it comes to original lore chapters (Elsweyr, Orsinium, Summerset etc.) and helps stand on its own feet. There's much better creative freedom when you don't have to worry about making things fit to the time-lines of previous TES games. The more original lore added by ESO, the less it feels like a cheap knock-off of an actual TES title.

Lol.....Classic Cyrodil!!! Circa 2015....pre lighting patch server.

3 banners war ends, pve 'ers get reworked pve cyrodil, pvp ers can 'time travel' to experience 3 banners war, at its height!!!!

THAT, with additional content, MIGHT get me to come back.....lol

The war doesn't actually repeat ... It's just a gameplay issue.
The Cyrodiil area is an area, like those in the base game regions, whose actions take place in 2E 582.

They're not going to remove the Cyrodiil PvP zone just because the war is over as time moves on with the new regions.

Before offering a new Cyrodiil, which as a fan of the Imperials I don't want, I would like them to finish completing the remaining areas of Cyrodiil.

Colovia is the next candidate whose exit is hypothetical in 2023.
Nibenay will be out in four / five years? Not until we've done a good rotation of what's left of Tamriel anyway.

Why can't we have both? In other words, an original storyline in The Shivering Isles, and additionally, for those who think Sheogorath's a bit of a joke, the story could show a darker side to Sheogorath, so he could be a mixture of manic and menacing.

Nope, it's fine. I realize I'm an outlier - he's not funny, he's not interesting at all to me. Most of the time I don't reply when people mention him, but I just got done with the MG quests on a 5th character and as usual, Sheo made me highly annoyed once again.

He should be portraited far more dangerous and scarier in the game, I don't understand why they only do this tame and tired Random Cheese God side of him all the time. He's far more dangerous than Bal or Dagon in my view, once he lays his gaze upon you, your life means nothing anymore unless you can entertain his madness. Some quests did tap into that I suppose. I think I agree with you though, I'd rather have less of him in ESO.

For what it's worth, I've wanted to go back to the Shivering Isles for some time too. That was my favorite place/expansion in any TES game, so I wanted to go there in ESO. Then from the conversation in this thread, I took a second to think why I like it: 1) it's a vibrant, beautiful, alien landscape in a game that is otherwise mostly painted in shades of green; 2) the story/quests were well written and fun to play through; 3) you were forced to "take sides" at certain points in the plot, and that had an impact on progression moving forward; 4) the armor and weapons from that expansion were cool looking and interesting but not overly powerful.

Looking back at those reasons for my nostalgia makes me less eager to revisit a place I like so much. Its beauty won't be new but imperfectly redone, and the other points will fall short of the original or be missing entirely. That said, it's not impossible to accomplish in ESO. The new city of Fargrave fits the alien type of landscape in a different way that I find just as enjoyable. So in the future, wherever we go, I hope they pay attention to why certain past expansions have been so well-loved and make entirely new content up to that standard. That's the key to winning (back) fans after the poor reception of recent chapters.

Ah okay, you mean Shivering Isles as a zone with an original plotline. I was thinking more in terms of what they could do with Shivering Isles since the lore in TES4 is so strong. They've kinda written themselves into a corner.

IMO Sheo gets a lot of screentime in ESO as it is. Actually we see a lot more of his dark side in ESO compared to other TES games (Mages Guild plotline) but obviously nothing close to what's mentioned in Myths of Sheogorath and Sixteen Accords of Madness books.

If they're going the Daedric prince route, I would rather them explore some of the more unknown ones like Peryite.

As much as I would like to visit Shivering Isles again, I very much hope that we DON'T go there any time soon.

I'm 99% certain that Shivering Isles in ESO will have a rehashed story about Greymarch and I find it incredibly annoying that despite getting Wes Johnson to voice Ard Caddach, they can't get him to voice Sheogorath.

But most importantly, I think they need to fill up the gaping holes in Tamriel before venturing to something "unknown".

This is also why I very much hope we won't go anywhere near Aetherius, Akavir, Yokuda or anything of the sort.

And sure, this would mean we'd have to get Skingrad, Solstheim, Whiterun, Dawnstar and Winterhold again. For many people this would be pretty boring I assume, we've been constantly seeing most of this stuff for the last 10 years in countless TES 5 re-releases and new editions.

But this would also mean we'll hopefully get to see the rest of the Hammerfell and Morrowind.

Besides, if you don't do another boring "world-ending" storyline, you can make it interesting even in rehashed zones. Wouldn't it be cool to see Winterhold before the Great Collapse and have an "adventure" storyline similar to Murkmire? Or a storyline about political intrigue in Skingrad?

Speaking of Shivering Isles, you can get the same creative aesthetics in Morrowind, especially in Telvanni Isles. Not only would it fill the Tamriel map, will have all this alien mushroom landscapes, but it would also send us somewhere where we haven't been before.

    Tamriel > Aetherium/Oblivion
    Telvanni Isles > Shivering Isles

3+ years ago I may have wanted a story based on Jyggalag attempting to break his curse and free himself of the Greymarch cycle but definitely not anymore. Sheogorath already has too much exposition and it's about time they did something unexplored and original. This whole year has been a reference to TES IV: Oblivion so making another year referencing an Oblivion dlc would be boring, and it's really not enough to make a year-long story out of that.

Recent article in the Washington post had a Q and A with Rich Lambert. one of the last question ask was were ESO is going next year and hear was his answer

Lambert: I think the best way to answer that is we are going to continue to support ESO. We’re going to continue building new content, building new systems and making the game better as we go. That’s something that we’re committed to doing. Exactly where we’re going — new features that we’re adding — that’s something that we’re not ready to talk about yet. But hopefully soon we’ll do that. But I will say that where we’re going next is a place that nobody’s expecting.

Wonder if this is somewhere not in tarmiel
