This was taken Dec. 11.
Notice any difference? Even the Crown price was changed.

Honestly, I think the prices just need to be lowered in general, either that or make quests pay a lot more because I can’t see justifying spending a hundred dollars (14,000 crown house) on a nice house, but that doesn’t do much.(and it’s really inconvenient to earn a couple million gold)

The price was raised from Nov 26th to Dec. 11th by 65,000 gold and from 3500 crowns on Nov. 26 to 3600 crowns Dev. 11

    See it now? :'(

So not cool, ZOS... and no warning either.

Same way they didn't give any warning about jacking up the cost of crowns as well.

I wonder if any other houses have had their prices increased?

The corporate greed shown by ZO$ shows no bounds. I really think that's it for me. The straw that broke the camels back. As much as I love the base game, the utter contempt they show us customers is horrendous.

And no, you can't have my stuff...

What are @ZO$ thinking of, raising the prices of existing houses?

It's hardly conducive to good customer relations when a player goes to buy an ingame house and finds out that everyone else so far has paid less, because @ZO$ has just decided to squeeze some more cash out of it.

I think this may be a bug and not necessarily malice?

So, UESP lists that house at the 255k/3.6k price tag. The page hasn't been updated since October (check the history page).

But on that page there's another house in Greenshade worth 190k/3.5k. So it looks like the game may have gotten confused before and shown you the wrong information?

    MMO Fashion corroborates this.

Prime real estate now that you can drop off writs in any drop off location. Right next door to marburak, and 65k to that house.
I don't normally use daggers, but when I do, I choose dos Lekis.

This house was always 255k (that was the price on Homestead patch day as well). I think the 190k price was a bug.

Here is a video from way back on the PTS (it was 255k even then): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w8up3blEcXk

what others said. this house was never 190k. I got it about a month or so ago and it was 255k then. possible visual bug? photoshop? there IS a house in greenshade that sells for 190k - Bouldertree refuge.

On my blog, the price for this house is also listed at 255k and I haven't updated in a while.

Ah, so I wasn't crazy thinking that Ebonheart used to be 3.1 million but I recently purchased it for 3.7 million.
House pricing needs to come down, especially in crowns.

I know on the Xbox One if you look at several houses you don't own and bring up the purchase menu, it sometimes shows the price for the previous house for a couple of seconds.

The alliance manors were always 3.78 million (or at least they were on the release patch notes, might've been different during PTS), I got the Chateau on release for that much. I'm pretty sure none of the prices have changed, as the evidence here is pointing to display bug instead of shady marketing.

I'd be happy with a housing sale, admittedly. I really want the Pariah's Pinnacle and while I'll probably get it, oof.

That seems to be the case. I just checked my housing list I created based off of information I obtained at Homestead's launch. That spreadsheet has always had Cliffshade at 255,000 gold and 3,600 Crowns. Also, I've had my eye on that one since the beginning, but haven't yet purchased it, but was always aware that I had to put aside 255,000 gold for it.

Funny how the gold price goes up much more than the crown price.

I wonder how many people with marketing degrees work at ZOS. They should hire more programmers, designers, etc. You know the people that actually add value to the world instead of just being parasites.

I took the screenshots to have an out of game record of houses that I hadn't bought yet and the prices that they are, or at least what I thought they were suppose to be.

actualy, there is a very logical explanation for that. exponentially higher gold prices make buying those houses with crowns as a more appealing perspective. its literally there to subtly make crown purchases look like a better value and encourage people to spend extra RL money. since housing is purely ornamental and having a bigger house doesn't really give you any in game advantage, it cannot be accused of being pay to win (and its also why its very likely that we will never get any kind of added storage or functionality beyond of what we already have) and it doesn't take a lot of people to figure this out or implement this. it DOES however generate revenue that allows ZoS to hire more programmers, designers etc.

and why would they do that? it makes absolutely zero sense. hiring designers to create more stuff that can be sold for cash, yes, that makes sense. but keep hiring marketers? without creating something for them to you know, market?

Diminishing returns would make that a terrible investment.

They also flexed the gold price on some statues of the achievement furniture. If you see something 'cheap' by now before they come out with a crown store parody.

Quests should never give that much gold. Unless its planned for at the start that is. A change could kill playerbased economy
