hew's bane foul water

foul water schools are bugged. it's been 2+ hours that they dont respawn...
fix it plz...last fish i need is there

You should try the ocean directly south of Ko Estaran. Where the river meets the sea, there are corpses in the water which makes it foul. Also after a long and wide search i found out 4 more spots. Northwest from Prince Hew's shuttered tomb POI there is this opening at the sea with crocodile bones in the water. 4 spots there 1 after another alongside the shore

After searching for the pools near Prince Hews shattered tomb I found naught. Are you sure it is northwest? I went along the whole coast and checked the pools but they were all ocean fish.
Correction: I found 1 spot right at the waterfall (there is a crocodile skull that looks like a stone). Got the blue fish (last one) there.

Bump - this is still a problem. Of the nine foul spots, maybe one/two are up in the five times I go back during the day.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom , would you please communicate this to someone? It makes it very tough for anglers to complete. The RND on blue fish bad enough not having to worry about RNG on holes being there. Two weeks of looking at maybe been able to get 10 holes fished.

The thing with fishing holes - they spawn at random, and in order to get new spawn, you (or any other player on the map) must dry one of any other spawns first and hope that next spawn will be one of Foul

The foul water spots are the brown markers.........



I have 5 master anglers and I find the best time to fish to be between 5 and 8 AM EST, especially if you are having trouble finding active holes. There seems to be fewer people fishing between those times. Good luck!

This is still massively bugged, more then enough none of the foul water spawns are there. This is extremely annoying if you want to complete the archivement (and no, there are no other anglers around when I'm there)

It's not bugged at all, it's just a matter of there being very few foul water spots in that zone. It's the same with Ocean water in cyrodiil and a few other places. Foul water in a couple of the other zones, Reaper's March for instance, are very few so you have to try and get there repeatedly to get the fish you want.

Obviously it's working as intended, or they would have added more holes for that type, even if it is annoying, and yes, it has annoyed me too.

Gnah! Reaper's March. It took me 2 weeks to get one final fish from foul waters. That was incredibly tedious. Tried all hours of the day and night...zip. I don't want instant gratification, that'd defeat the purpose of the achievement but two weeks?

I had this problem in the Rift with river spots. Drying up any other pools helped them spawn faster.

Trust me, I know how this works (I have the Master Angler), there is only a fixed number of spots for a given type and zone and when you empty a hole (or after a timeout) a new hole spawns after 1-2 minutes (you can see that clearly on the saltwater holes in Cyrodiil).

I checked all the known holes in Hews Bane after finishing one and more often then not there is no one spawning (and the zone is usually very deserted, i rarely see other anglers). So there are either holes that are on no map (I know the 3 locations) or this is simply bugged

bumping this cause I felt the same. After clearinf all the foul water spot none reapear. None in 3 hours...

Still bugged after 7 years. Just spent more than 30 minutes circling between the same 3 areas marked on all maps I could find online -- no spots. I found one school earlier today though, but no more.

I can confirm that these spots are bugged.

My bf and I have been trying to get the achievement fish in hews bane too and by seperately observing ALL the foul water spots with speedbuffs, we found there often is NO foul water spot up for a random amount of time.

Edit: we even tried closing nearby saltwater spots to open them, but it was useless

Yes, In Cyrodil its just 3 salt water holes south of Blodmayne and north of the East Elsweyr gate.
Less known its two more holes on the EP side, follow the coast up from the edge river and north and you find two more salt water holes. Found this in an AD group messing around.

But the AD side is easier as you fish river until salt water reset. Even other factions uses this spot.

An general rule is to focus on the rare holes.

Doing master angler the holes always kept their water type.
