I just logged into PTS and went to Imperial City. I started a quest to put a mark on wall in the Elven Garden. I got killed by 2 lvl 16 NPCs(I think) . Avoided them and trying to avoid a lvl 16 boss Clannfear I got killed by 2 lvl 15 NBs(I Think) from another faction. I lost all the new currency I had so that was strike 53. Thanks ESO for proving very quickly that I have no need for the DLC Imperial City. I do not do PvP ever, so a total PvP zone isn't my cup of tea.

I had 63 stones and I followed a crazy khajiit. He got jumped and I waded in trusty sword and board. He got away (Cats are lucky) I got killed and all my stones taken. I loved it something to fight for. It wasn't a quick death like Cyro is today. Nope they worked for them stones. And they earned them. It was fun and engaging. Thinking about it next time I will use inner fire on the bosses nearby and pull them into the fight. Not to happy about the crafting so I will prolly just kill my way to gear. Instead of the craft route. Semper Gumby.

I tried to solo the white gold tower.. Ha ha not happening. not me not yet. Tomorrow will be more testing. Will we be able to sell the stones ?

One thing to remember is that there will be requirements for your faction to meet before you can enter the IC. The only reason they have it open up completely is to test the new content. Otherwise the players would try to control their keeps and barely anyone would be able to enter before the IC drops on the 31st.. So, the only time you will see another faction in there is if they meet the requirement, which they said they want to test those requirements, or a player logs out in IC and happens to log in while your inside. But, if no other faction meets the requirements then you will be the only ones inside.

I am not the best at PVP at all. But I loved the short time I had with it so far.

I lost some stones, I gained some stones, I lost some stones ... They were long fights. Not a quick gankfest.

This DLC makes PVP feel so different and urgent, and Imperial City looks beautiful and horrifying. A stark contrast to my memories of Oblivion.

I shall get back on and fight more later!

I agree, this was my experience as well. I also helped another Alliance in the Arena District with the crazy Daedra arena thing, it was crazy. I went with groups and also spent some time solo. I like a support role and with the small scale combat each person makes a difference.

1v1 happens sometimes and then it sometimes goes crazy with PVE things all caught up - but that adds to it IMO.

    Completely agree with you, too.

I got caught up in a fight with someone in the Elven Garden district, and it spilled over into close proximity to that huge watcher boss, and he electrocuted us both and killed us.

It was just crazy fun. Huge kudos to Zenimax so far for this DLC. Huge fun.

I think you have missed the point. A large percentage of the complaints have nothing to do with this being a PvP DLC, but the way ZoS have dealt with the non-dungeon PvE elements of it. Frankly they might well have done better leaving PvE elements out of IC completely, but ZoS giggling like juvenile fools when talking about it did not help the situation.

Then if I may ask, with all total respect of course, how would you personally have implemented PVE in the piddle of a PVP zone?

It is exactly the same as Cyrodiil normal quests. You have the same threat of being killed doing those as you do in IC.

My impression from reading the hype was it was a combined zone with some pve quests , I was wrong. I had only kept my sub active for the new content. If they are going to make all zones PvP, as someone stated, then I won't play anymore. I guess they figure a thousand players with about a hundred suds is sustainable. I wish them luck.

They are implementing playing with other factions for grouping tools such as the LFG dungeon tool to begin with. But it will not be PVP.

So here's the thing... Right now they are evaluating your second statement and hoping that it is not true. They are hoping that people will buy the content and enjoy it because:
    A. It has been a long winter and "horse armor" only provides so much cash for the coffers.
    B. If the IC content is successful financially, then that means future PvP oriented areas will be developed.

So they are going to evaluate how much cash IC brings in and how much cash Orsinium brings in. The one that wins will get the primary love.

So yes... send tells to all of the easy kills on PTS and call them carebears.

Orsinium will get more sales anyways because PvPers will have to buy it to stay gear competetive; whereas, IC there will be a line of try before they buy who will simply not... and they are not focused with min-maxing, so those skyshards, and that gear that is for the moment top of the line will go unused/uncollected.

    <cue music="emperor throne room">Let your hate flow through you...</cue>

I do have a feeling that your second statement will be correct and possibilities of the future such as an open world PvP Shivering Isles will be scrapped after IC is ruled a financial failure compared to additional PvE content.

I hear you OP. I logged on PTS, ran over to the city, and I think I only lasted half an hour also. Just seems like another PvP zerg grind gankfest. Really not appealing to me. I don't see how people find that fun. For me all this update does is force me to regrind all my gear.
