NB healing

Hi guys,
are NB good healers? With good, I mean SO or VDSA good.

Or every party/raid will bring only temp healers?

Your answer is both. I have healed all content In the game except for sanctum hard mode on my nb. I am now and was before 1.6 on all time leadeboards for every trial including vet DSA. I love healing on my Nightblade and feel they are amazing healers.

As to the 2nd part of your question: Yes, people only bring templar healers. If you roll a Nightblade healer, you are in for a long road of proving yourself. People are extremely classist when it comes to healers. I can't tell you how many groups have kicked me out because I was not a templar. I can't tell you how many times I've seen this: "Need 1 templar for Hel Ra." When what they really meant was " Need 1 healer for Hel Ra."

I am not here to tell you you can't heal on your Nightblade. I'm here to tell you that others will tell you that you can't. It's up to you whether or not you want to have to prove yourself every time you Join a new group.

P.s. here is a link to my build that I've done everything with post 1.6:

He's the healer Tamriel deserves, but not the one it needs right now. So we'll hurt his tank. Because he can heal them to full. Because he's not our hero. He's a silent guardian, a watchful rejuvinator. A Cloaked Healer.

In 1.6 NB is as close to on par with Templar Healers as it gets. Funnel Health alone (in a SD stacking build) can push out well over 10K HPS in Trials, and I've seen heal ticks over 7K, but it takes a lot of planning to get it that high. It's actually possible to get NB Heals to exceed Templar Heals (both HPS and Burst) but the gear/spec required to do so is severely lacking in regen and very stressful to play as it's basically a Magicka DPS build. I have a secondary Healing build that is about half way Heal/DPS and I can push out ~10.5K Blessings but even as a hybrid with 32K Magicka I have serious problems with Magicka management. I can really only use that build in a good group that knows the fight mechanics. For pugs and training runs I still use my "never-OOM" build but it's boring as fook since 1.6.

One thing to consider when understanding how Healers work in Trials. Whenever you're stacking for certain mechanics, it makes literally no difference what Class you have Healing because ALL spam Healing Springs in those situations. Also, BoL won't save your group during burn phase on The Mage, for example. However, BoL is and should always be the superior go-to snipe Heal in ESO.

We are getting to the point that NB's are generally respected when Healing (although DKs/Sorcs are still uncommon) but it's been a long road. Hopefully as the newer B2P folks start getting up to VR14 we won't have as much "Class-ism" in the game and Players can truly 'play-as-they-want', time will tell.

You can heal with a NB but it will be more stressfull and hard than using a templar.
I really suggest you to don't make a NB if you want to heal.

LIke DeLindsay said, NBs can be very good healers. I remember even from last fall when the GM of a top raiding guild was talking about how great NB healers were. DKs also make great healers now, with their Major Vitality buff (can't remember which ability it is from). Also, don't overlook the new Soul Siphon ultimate, which has a direct heal with a HoT and Major Vitality buff, with a synergy that also steals hp from enemies. I really wanna see someone work that in their NB healing build.

I use Soul Siphon and I can tell you NOBODY dies when that's up lol. Even in my hybrid build it heals for nearly 30K and I know it can go well over 40K (each Player) plus an additional ~10K for 1 person. My Ultimate setup is either Soul Siphon + Veil of Blades or Soul Siphon + Soul Harvest (the later mostly for Vet dungeons). The deeper I get into the Champion System the easier it will be to manage my Magicka on my hybrid build and even push it closer to the "DPS" build that will have insanely high Healing numbers, but I just can't change it that far yet, not until I get much more Magicka regen and cost reduction from the CS. Hell my Healing Springs in my hybrid build Crits for over 3K/tick now

In my actual DPS build (I'm a FunnelBlade in 1.6) my Funnel Health Heals in Trials for just shy of 11K HPS. Compare that to Templars doing ~30K total HPS as the actual Healers and you can see how NB, if built correctly, can be incredible Heals.

If you want to be a nightblade healer, you are just going to make everything more difficult for yourself than just lvl'ing up a templar healer. Most veterans prefer templar healers in dungeons if you join them as a pug healer, because the chance to get better healing in the dungeon increases with a templar.

For stacking heals it doesn't matter what class you have, but in every other case it is easier to have a templar that casts Breath of Life - a skill that automatically heals the wounded members in 28 meters radius, than run around and target the wounded with healing springs - and Rapid Regeneration from resto staff is a very good skill but it heals slower than a Breath of Life.

So, just like with tanking where DK=easiest tank class to play, Templars=easiest healer class to play. Other classes can tank all the same content, just like other classes can heal all the same content. The main difference is having to get more creative and put more thought into your ability choices and armor sets.

Which is also exactly why I play a NB Tank/Healer for MS in end game content. I'm not one of those people who has any desire for "easy mode", I'd rather prove myself worthy doing something most consider impossible. That's much more of an accomplishment than "oh look it's another Templar Healer".

For anyone here who played Rift from launch I was one of my Guild's MT's as a Cleric and also an Inquisicar Healer even for Raids and was quite good at both even though near launch everyone panned Cleric as incapable of either.
